Same here with Windows 10 and Firefox. I remember to have mentioned this a long while ago, but cannot find the post anymore. Probably lost with one of the forum changes.

Went for my annual dental check up this morning. The first thing that went through my mind when leaving the dentist was: "How many polygons does it take to make a tooth?" I would have thought quite more than the 73 I ended up with. Cinema4D R20 scene file: Molar 73Polygons.c4d

No LED without a photo-transistor IC. My take on an FOD817 4 pin DIP Cinema4d R20 scene file: IntegratedCircuit-FOD817-4pin-DIP-PhotoTransistor-99polygons.c4d

I have made my PolyGnome plugin available in the download section (R20 only, for now). Documentation is included, but as with other modeling plugins, this one also requires some getting used to in order to master its potential. Similar to making the previous plugin available: in order not to hijack this thread, please keep discussion about the plugin in its own original thread (which you can find the link to in the plugin's description in the download section). While PolyGnome has it's own library-management (The Junkyard), it can unfortunately not help you with getting organized. 😉

As was mentioned in https://www.core4d.com/ipb/forums/topic/117170-designing-sci-fi-in-3d I have made both my PolyDup and PolyGnome plugins available. (R20 only for now). PolyDup being the newer one has more user-interaction for adjusting rotation, scale, position when inserting mesh-parts. Something I also would have liked to provide for PolyGnome, but never really managed to find a way to provide for a decent user-experience.

Version 1.6
40 downloads
PolyGnome is a Cinema4D plugin to provide a quick way of inserting greebles and mesh-parts into a mesh object. The version available here only supports R20 (for now), and is provided as is. Documentation included. Some mesh-parts are provided as a default library. Users can create their own libraries. This plugin can work together with "PolyDup", another modeling plugin available here at the Core4D forums. Original thread:Free -
Rightmouse click the item, and select "Remove" somewhere down in the popup window

Third, and probably last submission. A subject I seem to remember from old Lucky Luke comics: when people lost all their money and clothes at a poker game they had to run around "wearing" a barrel. In this parallel universe the faceted garden gnome did not loose his money nor clothes at a poker game ... only a bunch of polygons. Cinema4D R20 scene file GnomeWithBarrel 99poly.zip

Working on "Smirk" gave me another idea. "An apple a day" Cinema4D R20 scenefile: An-Apple-A-Day.zip

Meet Smirk, the irritatingly annoyed square-eyed cyclop snail. At right the smoothly SDS-ed version of Smirk. At left the original mesh with its 99 polygons. Scene file: Smirk-99polygons.zip

A long while ago I modeled a faceted garden gnome. I thought that would make a nice entry for this challenge as I was 100% certain that model had way less than the max. allowed 99 polygons. I was shocked to find out the body alone had more than 250 polygons. Not counting those of the legs (78) and shovel (27). A major revisit was required ... Now I don't expect to win any prize with this. Just consider it my contribution to get the challenge going.

As my name was mentioned a few posts (and pages) ago, regarding plugin development, I only wanted to clarify it was about PolyGnome and PolyDup. These plugins were developed in 2018, 2020 respectively and you can find their separate development threads on these forums. Due to mental health issues I have stepped down from being an active plugin developer. Or any 3D related activities for that matter. I have however decided to upload a version of PolyDup (available at the Core4D's download section). This only supports Cinema4D R20, as that is all I care about right now. I am not further going to hijack this thread and would like not to derail the discussion here. If anyone wants to discuss the plugin(s), please head over to their appropriate thread. Thanks! PS: Looking forward to your further endeavors with designing sci-fi. I am interested and following the thread out of curiosity, but will probably never manage any attempt. I just dislike modeling, and that for the past 30 years I have been a 3D hobbyist. Take care!

Never have seen the original Avatar movie, and never really felt the need to. Same feelings for the sequel.

Congrats!

Did not yet dive deeper in what this 2022.4 release would bring. But now that GPU prices are getting slightly less expensive (juuust slightly) I was maybe looking to get an RTX3070 and a U-Render license for my R20. Then I noticed they went subscription only. That's just the last straw for me. I am done.

Welcome ! Are we supposed to put the salt BEFORE the water is boiling or when it's boiling? Just wondering. My wife and I never add salt to the water.

Thanks for sharing. I loved watching these cartoons as a small kid. Not sure what to think of the transition to 3D. My childhood memories, and nostalgia seem to take over here, and much prefer the classic hand drawn cartoon. I guess it's the typical thing when seeing a remake not matching the expectations of the original. Still not too bad, all in all.

This has been discussed and explained earlier. Copying and renaming the plugins will not work, since internally they still have the same plugin-ID. There is a solution which is explained here and here. The idea is to create a script, which refers to a particular Dials toolset. You then assign a hot-key to the script. You can create as many scripts as you want/need. By pressing the hot-key, the particular script is executed, which launches Dials with a particular toolset -> instant "multi dials"

For R23 and earlier you can download and use https://www.core4d.com/ipb/files/file/67-search-material

You can delete all mac and non R25 files and see if that helps, but I can confirm that on my installed development version of R25.117 the plugin lists its welcome message in the console window as expected. And plugin is available in the extension menu. Even with all mac files and non R25 files present. Cannot help you further, sorry!

First thing is to see if Cinema4D found the plugin to launch. Does the console window (shift-F10) shows anything related to the Dials plugin. If successfully started, the plugin will show a welcome message in the console window: "Dials v1.44 - ready". When no message is listed: did you add the path to the plugin folder into your preferences?
