During the 3D Motion Show, Paul Babb stated to watch for something on "420", intimating that there will be some announcement on April 20th. I would assume it will be S26.

C4D and Redshift. I originally saw this glass in a commercial photography shot. I recreated the unique cavity in the center of the glass as best I could remember it. Redshift was very finicky on this one. I was getting constant crashes. Sometimes I think the IPR just does not keep up with file saves, switching to 4 viewports, or just turning the IPR off. I find myself saving on each move I make.

At work we have tons of materials that we have invested time and money to create with C4d. Switching to a new renderer outside of ProRender will require recreating these materials. And so many of them use c4d native noises that would not be available in those renderers. We tried switching to Arnold and abandoned it when the "converted" materials did not meet our expectations. And Node based is not the panacea people here talk about. Just get smart link and you can link any texture to all the channels just like node based does.

What I like with Prorender is that you are using the native c4d materials. No trying to force c4d materials to work in Arnold, V-Ray or Octane.

Actually, Casey Hupke, Derya Ozturk, Athanasios Pozantzis and Chad Ashley all had presentations that included new features of R18. All you need to do is to go to Cineversity to see them. I could be wrong on the announcement of R19 because EJ Hassenfraz has tweeted 3 hours ago " Is everybody ready for #C4D R19?".

My take is to look at the lineup of speakers at c4dlive.com. There have been instances previously where the subject was TBD right up to the show so they can insert a topic regarding the new version, but this year there are none. There are a number of speakers discussing VR (not talking about me, lol) but you can do that with R18 unless there are some new tools for it. However, this is the first time I recall Rick Barrett ending the show with "Coming Soon to Cinema 4D and Cineversity". I think this indicates that there will be no announcement of R19 at the show.

Thank you! I live in Florida and believe it or not spent nearly a week with no air conditioning. Finally got it fixed yesterday but a beer still goes down smoother today than normal!!! -
