  1. I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled it due to waning interest. I've been waiting close to 2 years for them to release it. I became impatient and moved onto investigating other renders in this time, notably Vray and RedShift. With Cycles, Octane, Arnold and other renderers available, the render market is now getting a little crowded!
  2. @nerv Thanks for your response, and advice, I'll give it a go. Wow, never realized you can really crank the settings up like that....I'll play around more. I'm still a novice user, but the render speed of Redshift makes it very attractive to me, I also don't like the 'culture' behind octane but I fear once RedShift becomes more widespread, there'll eventually be 'us' and 'them groups...we'll see. I'm determined to get better using this renderer. It also makes me realise the differences and potential of other renderers in general. Nerv, your works are very inspiring, you've helped spark my interest! Thanks for all your experiments and posts!
  3. Great work Nerv, I'm using the Redshift alpha and am having an issue with Sub Surface Scattering. I can't seem to get it to work properly. I’m not sure if it’s something i’m doing wrong but none of the settings seem to do anything, even when I crank them to the max. The diffuse colour always seems to show through, if diffuse is set to 0 then the material is black. Please see attached image. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
  4. I was working with a C4D operator who wrote his own Python script on the fly. It seems extremely useful, would it be possible to have a beginner/intermediate guide to Python scripting from the Master Class?
  5. Advanced Character/facial rigging is a yes from me!
  6. Thank you so much!
  7. Hi All, Please see my finished renders below. Started this project to practice facial modelling and head rigging. I sent a few WIP posts on this earlier in 2016. I used Cinema4D with Vray4C4D, Photoshop and After Effects for this project. All feedback welcome, many thanks!
  8. Hi all. I'm currently at the storyboarding stage of creating an animated short. My method of animating is to have the motion and music very much in-synch, with characters moving 'in beat to the music'. With the storyboard as a guide, I would like a soundtrack composed that will fit with what happens on paper, while the animation may change slightly to accommodate the music. I understand there may be bit of to-and-through with this method...making everything fit, but..so be it. What I would like to know is how much would sound design for something like this cost..? I'm aiming the short to be around 4-5 minutes max, ideally 3 minutes. I would like something quite polished so am not looking to get this done on the cheap...similarly I don't want it to cost tens of thousands either. Is it advantageous to approach a sound studio as opposed to an independent sound designer? I really have no idea how much something like this would cost, or the most effective way of approaching it so any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks!
  9. Quick answer as I'm super busy right now and don't have the time to check but.... There's no reason why it shouldn't. At the heart of the character tool made rig is a rig made with the Cinema 4D native tools which work well with NitroPose.... ..but don't quote me on that!
