  1. I have imported realflow particle bin files to c4d r20 on a Macpro 2019. How do i render them? I added a redshift object tag to the sequence but can’t get them to render. Any advice gratefully received.
  2. Dave, Terrific! Just the job. Many thanks for replying! best regards David
  3. After Effects used to have a Red Giant plug-in called Planespace, which took image layers in AE and distributed them in 3d space. You could then fly through the images. In its recent money-grubbing incarnation, Maxon bought Red Giant and killed off this helpful plug-in. So... Is there a way to replicate the functionality? Ideally, point to a folder of images, create planes (with the aspect ration of each separate image) and distribute them randomly. I don't need animation at the moment, but that would be a plus. I've fiddled with Mograph cloner, but I don't see how to assign images from a folder and resize each plane to fit the aspect ratio. Any clever soul got an idea how to do this?
  4. Hrvoje, This is singularly generous of you to offer your clever files. I bought much of your VP training and found your files very clever and informative. Again, many thanks for posting these.
  5. It won't work on Nvidia cards on MacOS.
  6. FINALLY!!!!!!!! Viewports that don't flip to wireframe if you even sneeze..... (if the guitar clip is to be believed...)
  7. timli, there are 10 mouth shapes to master, in order to lip-sync. They are described here: https://www.thoughtco.com/lip-synching-for-animation-basic-phonemes-140558. If you Google "mouth shapes phonemes", you can find drawings of these 10 shapes, which you can use with a suitably-complex rig. regards, David
  8. I understand that this is no trivial task. I'm looking for guidance on how to approach a rig to make facial expressions and eye movements, i'e. as real as possible movements, using a photorealistic face.
  9. Wonderful! Standing by.... It may already have been requested: facial rigging. This would be a giant leap forward for my use of C4D. regards, David
  10. Mario, i'm interested to know why you say Maya is not an alternative. Any info gratefully received. regards, David
  11. Wonderful idea! I've signed up, and would like to offer a couple of suggestions for consideration: 1. There are dozes of Realflow tutorials around but none of them teach how to render the final sim. If you think about it, a perfect fluid sim is worthless if you don't know how to render it. Continuing that thought, I recommend that the MC include how to render any scenes or effects, rather than just build in C4D the scene or effect. 2. I recommend inclusion of C4D-to-post-production techniques. For example, for compositing does it matter whether to output object masks or material ID masks? Is there an advantage of one over the other, especially considering anti-aliasing? In other words, i'm suggesting inclusion of end-to-end production of scenes or animations. I commend you on this initiative and look forward to being brought out of my darkness into your light. best regards, David

    R18 is here :)

did a speed test for r18: opened a scene which was made in r13 using r17, saved it and rendered 1 frame 1080p. Took 56 seconds. Opened the saved scene in r18, rendered in 36 seconds. That was with standard renderer with GI and AO. I'll gladly take a 50% speed increase...... Fo' yo' info'.
