  1. I am ok with the ticket system but it really is tiresome to fill out the complete form every single time you send in a request. It would be way easier to connect it to the MAXON account every user has. Once locked in no more form to fill out would be the way from a user's perspective. But maybe the current design decision is a way to manage the flood.

    Any symmetry plugin ?

    I constantly get meshes with uvs,textures, morph targets etc that need to be adjusted and changed. The claim that there is a certain order to things is not how real world projects work. There are constant changes to models and uvs from Customers, Directors, Art Direction, TDs etc. I do this stuff for 15 years now. Redoing the uvs every time because they are completely broken by the symmerty object is simply not a good workflow. Not even talking about morph targets. But it currently is the C4D workflow. Ok it may be hard. But strangely basically every modelling software out there can do it. Maya can , Max can, Blender can a bit, ZBrush can, 3D Coat can, etc... Weren't there even coffee scripts from Cineversity that didi it?

    We neeeeeeed(!) nondestructive Symmetry Modes in C4D. It should be damn easy to implement since they are already there in the sculpting tools. MAXON just does not get it how important it is to model on a mesh without destroying uvs

  8. Welcome to the age of subsription where they have to throw out a version every year l be it ready or not. Everyone pays for being a beta tester. Clever buisness I would say.
  9. I personally have 4 freelance colleagues who all do Archviz and all use C4D. Maybe it is a German thing but there are quite a lot of people here doing Archviz in C4D. And I see it frequently in job descriptions.

  11. Well, I give max another 5 years untill it is finally replaced by Maya. Learn Maya if you want to broaden your skills. It is the most powerful tool off the shelve.It is the tool that needs the least of external plugins because most of the stuff is there already. But yes it can be painful. If we only had proper simulation tools in C4D....

    If it is true that XSI was basically closed for third partys no wonder they failed. It is a fundamental requirement today to be modular.

  16. Yes at first sight this is an odd merger. There are like 25 C4D plugins I would have preffered to be aquired by MAXON before soemthing like this happens but well...maybe they combine the node editor with picture viewer and make a compositing tool out of the two. Or maybe it is just a buisness move. Who knows.
  17. Do not forget animating believeable human faces is still by far the most challenging task in cg. Making stills of them is possible now but as soon as they move it gets incredibly difficult. I guess to bring it to the highest Level would simply have exploded the budget and time frame for such a show.
  18. As awesome as the animation is I agree the show comes by as animators horror show off pieces with thin story in most cases. But I would have loved to work on it ;)
  19. I wonder about that VFX budget... 10 Mil? 15? 20? Truly global production. I heard the base rig of the earlier dragons from Pixomondo had around 500 Joint controllers because they need to be able to make very quick changes to basically every single scale under tight deadlines. I am sure the current big ones have even more with all the simulation layers of skin etc. I wish we had functioning cloth in C4d to make dynamic skin like this...

First test: - Very fast and easy workflow for basic rigging - The plugin uses the internal algorithms from C4D for skinning so there is no heat map skinning coming with it just the normal C4D features - The skinning therefore result in mediocre weights that is why they do not show shoulder movement for example in the presentation. - Tip: When selecting the placement vertices on the mesh use the loop tool for fingers etc. since the plugin places into the middle of selection. If you only select on one side placement will be off. Conclusion: It is a quite simple workflow plugin and nice helper for people with no rigging experience for a very quick rig. But joint weights have to be manually adjusted to get better results like always with auto skinning.
  21. That looks like simple heat map skinning with delta mush functionality or some simple smoothing applied. Both are implemented for years in other apps but not in C4d....what a suprise. Delta mush at least is there as a plugin for c4d users. Edit: wow only 29 Dollar? Basically a must have. Waaay to cheap.
  22. Always the best. Going through it frame by frame is just hilarious. That Rig must be insane.
