  1. I had an interesting day yesterday, the TV show I work on _ Look Kool _ was nominated for an international Emmy and my first Lovecraft film, Music of Erich Zann, is being shown in San Fransico as part of SF Indiefest at: New People CinemaTue, Nov 1 9:00 Pm
  2. well we haven't seen anything you can't model yet! This looks really good and very different from your cartoon stuff.
  3. So, basically... there is nothing you can't model well! Good work!
  4. This came out of nowhere, as a long time cafe member and user of his plugins, I had nothing but good experiences in my interactions with him. His plugins are what has kept me with C4D in recent years. A loss of a great guy and the Cinema 4D community.
  5. that looks amazing! The only thing I would be careful of is the scale of the grass which seems a little large. Still looks great though!
  6. I made something like that once, I like this idea a lot!
  7. this is fantastic, it seems to have the right balance of detail. Enough to look real but not crazy enough to grind the computer to a halt.
  8. capturing that artwork in 3D is a challenge but you seem to have got it spot on! I love the sketchiness of it!
  9. A demo reel -to me - shows what you can do, the span of work so a potential client can see their vision in what you do. Art is always about pushing yourself further but sadly, commercial work isn't. A good part of the reel is from my TV show "Look Kool" (the robot cat) and pretty damn stylized but if I had too much of that, that would be all people would think I can do. There is one walk cycle and one explosion, the rest is pretty ecceltic stuff and some of it from Emmy and Peabody award winning projects I did for PBS.
  10. So I thought I should cable a new one together before it isn't 2016 anymore! I try to keep these short and sweet and add new stuff whenever possible... not always possible since work is often hard to come by or takes a LONG time to complete!
  11. I would say that ii a very hight end look. From what you have said it s a lot of work for one person to take on for an entire movie and you seem to have found a really efficient workflow. the painted elements are beautiful! I always heard animation in photoshop was a nightmare so I never even tried it!

this looks amazing, another reason to try and learn bodypaint ...again!
  13. I would really like to try this! I have never been able to get Bodypaint to work for me so anything that makes it easier is very very welcome!
  14. I have to say even though stating with c4d somewhere before version 8 and being a member of the cafe as long as i can remember, by version 11 I was looking at MAYA and even blender to do my 3D work. I am a one man show and MAXON was getting more are expensive and letting more and more of the features to rot on the vine. I only upgraded to 16 because of a work contract, the first that required C4d only in YEARS. I still like the interface overall and the ease of use that is infused into C4D and I still need it for work, but like a lot of people the writing seems to be on the wall. As for Nigel leaving, it's really a loss for the C4D community ( I think we can say his dedication to us and the product is what made many of stay with it, not MAXON) but after so many years its normal to move on to other things. As a cyclist, good on him! As a follower of the cafe, good luck on your new endeavours away for C4D. You have helped me a lot over the years and I can't express my appreciation enough.
