  1. No one knew there was a cat, much less Fritz the Cat.
  2. Careful, revealing internal deliberations is a violation of the NDA. And also, it's not 4/20 yet.
  3. Have you tried Set to Default the camera? That at least will reset the camera so you don't have to copy to a new scene.
  4. This looks great. If you were planning to make a long or short film, you would only need to let the AI study the different scenes for some time, and then every test render after will be super fast.
  5. Yes, it was removed because most people didn't even know about it and it was rarely used by anyone and also because as Cerbera guessed the distinction between component modes and UV component modes was very confusing and annoying to most people. It was kind of a neat option to be able to edit UV components in the editor, but even though I knew it was possible to do, I can't remember the last time I ever tried.
  6. Answering your own question and sharing the results! 💪👏
  7. Of the two, I would suspect AE of causing the problem more than c4d.
  8. Also consider that very big companies are slow to adopt new technologies. Innovation comes from the ground up, not from the top down. The average cell phone for example has a higher resolution camera with better color science than the average television news camera despite the news camera costing about 30 times more.
  9. Not just subscriptions but any online activation scheme. I called it two years ago or whenever it was that the online activation nonsense was announced, and argued at the time that users could easily and without notice lose access to their bought and paid for software for any number of reasons including the company going out of business, a war, a global disaster, a powerful computer virus, or any other number of reasons. I just didn't expect it to happen so soon.
  10. Right, and obviously I didn't mean that, but thanks for sharing that bit of useless info instead of something concrete.
  11. That's totally not normal. It absolutely should never crash just because you enable Displacement, especially in an empty scene, so I would submit the bug report to Maxon and then call them if the problem cannot be resolved with a machine restart.
  12. I hardly ever watch training videos unless I have a specific problem I need an answer to, and in my experience, YouTube almost always serves up at least one and oftentimes many videos with just the answer I was looking for, and at no cost or time spent looking. which is just great because it's so much easier than searching for answers in the help doc or elsewhere, and when YouTube doesn't have the answer, there is this forum. I have even made a couple of videos myself with moderate success but didn't find the time to keep up with them. I once was working on a character rigging tutorial until I finally just decided that Cinema is not very good or suitable for CA and there wouldn't be enough interest in for it in the Cinema community.
  13. Aren't you limited to what the graphics card comes with? It's not as if you can just add more, is it?
  14. My wife's Imac, about 5 years old, has never crashed to my knowledge, and yet I also cannot remember the last time my Windows 10 computer crashed, so I think they're both pretty stable. The key is not to update drivers and whatnot all the time, as that's just asking for trouble.
  15. Ok. And if none of the coordinates have been Frozen then I'm completely out of ideas.
  16. Would be cool if those leaving c4d for Blender would share some concrete examples of what they find better about blender, instead of just making empty assertions all the time.
  17. Ate you sure the coordinates manager is not set to World?
  18. My last year's experience with YouTube got around $1500 per million with this channel: New York Street I don't know this guy but he seems to be on to something: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY1kMZp36IQSyNx_9h4mpCg
  19. If the goal is to get the hue correct, rendering the subject in white and multiplying it with the swatch in post is something I've seen done to produced the client expected result by people a little smarter than me. It's important to make sure the lighting environment is color neutral too.
  20. I would just add that once you get the xpresso working as desired, you can convert the animation to a spline by tracing the path and then using that traced spline with an Align to Spline tag for all your further renderings and visualizations, as this frees you from having to contend constantly with the slow simulation, eliminates the scrubbing problems, and enables better motion blur. I usually build an A-B switch into the rig so that A follows the simulation and B follows the spline.
  21. That's what I'm saying. There is no real ownership possible of anything tied to online activation. Any upheaval at the company or society at large can make it all worthless and useless in a heartbeat.
  22. Russia's invasion of Ukraine is just sick and must not be tolerated by the international community of nations. It's obscene to see one European nation invading a neighboring sovereign nation in this the 21st century. Americans stand firmly on the side of Ukraine and appose all Russian aggression. Now with all that said, I think this is an excellent example of how unreliable and comparatively worthless a web based subscription license is compared to a serial number based license. It can be withdrawn or lost at any moment for any number of reasons totally beyond the users' control to do anything about. I brought up this argument when subscriptions first came that the software couldn't be relied upon in case of huge social upheaval in the world, and here is direct proof of that.

    Growing hair randomly

One way would be to use a noise in the hair's length or density channel and animate the noise color inputs as needed.
  24. This can be easily achieved and with more control by simply tracing a single object orbiting an object in a larger orbit
