  1. One thing that stood out to me with Houdini is that points can carry a color attribute and be used in rendering.
  2. Is it possible to recreate complex Mograph setups in Houdini? If so, Is it even worth recreating Mograph like setupts in Houdini or would it be better to approach it with some more efficiently native method?
  3. At least someone tried. Now everyone is wondering about the just wrong user, Was that me? 😄 I don't mind people pointing out other software solutions, as they can give you some clues usually by knowing what your software is missing so you can save valuable time not looking for something that isn't there, and focus on alternative solutions instead. Of course it shouldn't derail the thread.
  4. I agree. This is why one should never use Mac OS if they can avoid it. 😜
  5. No I believe you. I just can't believe that response. It sort of helps with this one scene, but offers no advice on how to avoid it in the future or what the cause of it is, so basically useless and seemingly cynical response
  6. The fact that RS support suggested such a solution and then suggested that the OP not even question that solution is just so absurd I can barely even believe it.
  7. Yes I hope the OP finds an answer and shares it with us. The scene and especially the water was looking pretty good besides the artifact so must be frustrating.
  8. I tried that per your suggestion and unfortunately, it doesn't change anything. I also earlier tried to change the scene project scale and that made no difference either. I briefly wondered if maybe it had something to do with the Redshift Sky and Redshift Sun objects, which I've not used before, but deleting them also didn't make any difference on the line artifact.
  9. I searched far and wide for some kind of Ray Epsilon setting, as in Octane and ProRender. It must be there somewhere but maybe isn't the issue here. Usually when using real SSS settings you need fully 3 dimensional objects, not just planes to get a good result. But seems not to be that either.
  10. If I change the SSS setting in the Water material from Transmittance to Extinction, as shown here: I get this result which shows the line very well, which tells me this is where to look, but nothing more.
  11. Because I needed them to know they aren't needed. My point is that you as a 3D artist can troubleshoot a problem to its core pretty easily if you know the routine, it's something you have to do all the time, and troubleshooting a problem always starts with eliminating everything that isn't the problem first, to know where to start with where the problem is. So anyway, the problem appears to be the intersecting line of the beach and the water, by I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. It seems to have something to do with the SSS or transmission settings of the water material, but I'm not enough of an RS expert to guess why it isn't working. I tried playing with all the render settings I could think of to try and none of them had any influence.
  12. Ok. First of all, I haven't found the answer, but I do want to show you how a problem should be troubleshot and what kind of file you should provide others when requesting help. First, I removed all the scene objects not needed to show the problem, which left me with this: I also deleted the polygons and points in the Beach plane object that aren't seen by the camera. Then I deleted all the unused\ materials that aren't needed to render the scene which left me with this: Then I removed all the image files in the water material, as they aren't needed either. And that left me with this render result. The red arrows indicated the black line artifact. I then saved the file as a new file which is about 1/50th the size of your original file and uses no image files, but still shows the artifact. I also turned off Global Illumination, as that too isn't needed to see the artifact. . And here attached below is the resulting file in case anyone wants to troubleshoot it from here. landscape quixel ross masonMV4.c4d
  13. Can't tell because the file is missing texture images. Please save the file using "Save Project with Assets"
  14. The comedy of this is that this board is chock full of self proclaimed current and past Maxon employees, beta testers, and interested third parties, and probably not a one of them doesn't have at least a dozen ideas of their own that they would like to see implemented first and foremost above any random thing they might read here. Whatever Maxon's problems are, lack of ideas is not one of them.
  15. Yeah, if you want better you really have to go back to R20. 😄
  16. Isn't R23 mostly identical to R21? One can easily go back and forth between them and never even notice the difference.
  17. What you want is a cloth sim which should be easy because Cinema's default cloth settings tend to produce rubber like results straight away.

    Inkscape 1.2

There is a new Illustrator import in R25:
  19. I think all new keys get their interpolation setting from Project Settings. See attached image.

Seems like it would be more productive to address the issue the thread presents than spend time interpreting the motives of those who contribute something to it that is so benign and jokes about it at the same time. Not everything needs to be attributed to some malicious intent.

I think there has to be a long grace period for new users, maybe a year, before they are forced to pay. Otherwise, no new members will ever join. But then of course users who don't want to pay can reappear with new user names to get around paying. Not an easy solve for sure.
  22. Yeah I finally got in front of a computer and tried it for myself and could not get it to work.
  23. Try putting a meterial on the cloner and make sure that it is working both in viewport and in render, then add the connect object.
  24. Is there a material on the connect object? If so, remove it.
  25. I will watch but I think it's almost impossible to surpass what Westworld has already done with their world class story telling, cinematography, music and special effects. The title sequenced alone, rendered in Octane, is worth the price of admission.
