  1. 10.2 The User may only install and use the Software on several devices concurrently if the applicable license model expressly permits this or if the Licensor expressly permits him to use the Software for other purposes. For Named User Licenses, the User can switch between different devices. This right to switch between different devices is limited to five (5) license releases per day. Maxon just gone insane or I misread something?
  2. WTF Maxon? This is insane. I don't want redshift, it's such a laggy mess. How do You plan to compete with free software that is now superior in most areas with the price hike like this? C4D is lacking in almost every area, there is not even a built in fast rasterisation renderer, nodes are barely usable and not compatible with most of the software functionality. Dynamics and particles live in a different hardware areas and are virtually not compatible with each other. The core rewrite stuck in a limbo. How do You think this will end for you? The only thing that prevents my studio from migrating to Blender is object manager's simplicity. How do you think this will unfold when Blender fixes it's UX? Half of our 3D stuff is Blender native. None new employees with c4d skills. This ex Adobe guy ruined the future of this software.

    UV islands

I'm trying to create a node which transforms a single uv island, but I can't find a way to separate points for a single island. Explode mesh islands node is changing the point structure. Is there a way to find how many uv islands are in a given geometry and which uv points belongs to this island?
  4. You can use redshift for that, but it is quite depressing that the answer for problems in C4D is blender, for most people.

    Importing particles from houdini?

    Reading UV's

Thank you Srek for the answer. I was able to use it to create UV to mesh morph for usage in projection mapping. Scene_Nodes_UV_To_Mesh_03.c4d

    Reading UV's

I'm struggling to understand the way in which UV coordinates are ordered in Geometry Property Get node (UV mode). I can't find a way to match those with the geometry points index. For the geometry with one UV island and no UV splits there is only one UV coordinate for one geo point. How to read those? For example I want tho know what is a UV coordinate for point n in my geometry (pick the lowest polygon index for coordinates).
  8. I'll try to be polite. Maxon licence management is one of the worst, if not the worst in the industry right now. I personally, and everybody in my studio has problems with maxon licensing all the time. With every iteration of this system, Maxon is trying as hard as it can to make harder and harder to unasign and assign licenses. Now it takes like a 20 clicks with typing passwords on the way to assign license. Today, I cant even log into your system. I have to deliver something today for my client, an I can't even open Cinema 4d because of someones greed. This behavior will not lead to anything positive for your company in the long term. Edit. Ok, I saw email from Maxon considering today's maintenance , but every other thing still applies.
  9. This is a simple grid crawler setup. Have fun. Grid_Clawler.c4d
  10. So Maxon entered the full self destruct mode. I smelled something fishy when they removed the ability to release a licence from other machine in Cinema 4d licence window. It was a nice 25 years with this software. Based on the speed of Blender's development, it would be just few years when C4d becomes complitely irrelevant.
