  1. Many thanks Cerbera and sorry it's taken me so long to reply. Work arrived to spoil my fun so I had to shift focus to laying out a newspaper (my bread and butter) Now I'm back in model mode and will follow your guidance Many thanks once again Kevin
  2. Dear Cerbera Thanks for replying I've added CD4 R21 to my profile and I've now got my co-ordinates manager back which is good news. it's just that when I highlight any point on the model in point mode, it gives me the same coordinate values for it's position no matter which point I select, either on the wing, or the fuselage. In other words, no matter which point I select the values remain consistent i. e. The Position is always x=-315.69 Y=0 Z = 173.02 Size and rotation is 0 , Object (Rel) is selected as opposed to (Object (ABS) or World I've tried moving the axis point to the front of the plane but even then when highlighting a point I now get a value of x = 0 y = 0 z = 347.212 and the axis bands remain in the same position on the model - just behind the cockpit, no matter which point I select I'm sure when I originally started working on this each point had a different value and I was able to check those values as I progressed down the fuselage tweaking everything as I went . The profile of the wing was subsequently expanded outwards at 90 degrees from a spline attached perpendicularly to the fuselage to maintain the geometry across the wing centre until it started to thin out at the edges. If I could get separate values for each of the points that would be great Many thanks Kevin
  3. Hi Folks, Hopefully this is an easy one, but by chance or shear ineptitude, I seem to have mislaid my coordinates All started well for the fuselage and I was able to manipulate coordinate values in the first column X,Y and Z. All was well until I did something I wasn't aware of, and suddenly all the points started showing the same values. I also unattached my coordinates manager and now I can't find it. What I'd like to do is to restore the co-ordinant points to my model so I cross reference and then blunder on some more. I should have tried the ME109 first, it has straight wings! Any help greatly appreciated even if it's 'no one does it like that any more - start again!' spitfire 1B.c4d
  4. Thanks Igor, that's good advice. I normally blunder in regardless and then panic when it all goes wrong. Call it a character flaw. I will try and do a little bit daily and see where I get. 😀
  5. It's been a while but I used to post back in the cafe days. I then upgraded from visual to the full C4D package and like a good novel no one reads that's where everything stayed. Now I figure I need to do some stuff, I'd like to model static images so I need to get very much better at that before considering anything else. However, I feel I'm very much a novice in all departments so I'm just going to throw myself in at the deep end to see if I sink or swim. Knowing me I'll drown. All the best, Kevin.
