HI, I'm working on a 3d interior scene using physical render and I have a kind of divider screen in the middle of the room that has two pieces of translucent material that I managed to achieve the client brief but when I render in HR it takes too long so I decide just to render a simple glass material and do add the effect in Photoshop so I have used a composition and buffer just the glass objects but when I render object buffer is coming 50% grey and not black and white and in photoshop when I try to select that area I get the selection edges are not visible. I have played with the settings in the composition tag but still I get the same result. Have anyone and idea what is happening? Thanks
  3. @Zerosixtwosix thank you very much for your reply and the link, It has very valuable tips that are helping me although I did try masking the splines but with not success but on Discord someone else gave me the solution. and it was very simple I just have to excluded the fields on each emitter keeping all of them in the same tracer! Boom Thanks

Hi There, I have a scene using the C4D particle system, I am creating a roots growing animation using a set of splines that are acting as paths for the emitters also I am rendering with Redshift so in the tracer I have a RS object tag to control the shape of the root. As I have 4 different paths I'm facing an issue having multiple emitters in the scene. I managed to setup the first path controlling the speed and the number of tracers and I tried to bring the new paths into the field force but the new one overrides the first one plus the starting point of the other splines is different so I brought in a different emitter for each spline with its own field force but all linked to the single tracer in the scene. But it has messed up all the timing in the animation. I wonder if this is the right way to do it? , attached a screenshot of the scene, any advice very much appreciated. Thanks Roots_01.c4d

Hi there, I have animated a flower with a growing effect and on the steam sequence I have used a spline and MoSpline objects, all good up there but when I bake it as alembic the file is coming with red "a" icon which after some forums help I did found out the point count is changing throughout the animation so when I re-texture the alembic object the animation works ok but the materials change throughout the sequence. Does anyone know how I can set a consistent point count? Has anyone had a similar issue before? Any tip would be very appreciated!
  7. Thank you so much you both! I think it is finally working. I do still need to make it work with the vertex map but the fields are finally working. Looks like the issue was the alembic format I exported in the first place. It was not merged and I had two objects, parent/child and both have in the object settings the use of animation option. digging about it I found a trick using a connect object on the original flower to export it as alembic and finally getting a single object. After this I was able to keyframe the sequence keeping the the clone Animation mode in play (which is different from all the tutorial I have found) and it worked.   8. @Cerberathanks again for your reply, I have messaged you with the tip. I have included the alembics and the original blooming flower in the files. I found in the forum a similar approach and I did try keyframing the alembic but the version that has finally worked for me after exporting the blooming flower for the original set is coming with parent and child and I tried to animate either way the frames and still the offset time field doesn't work, I am really lost in this one. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fu2ougpaCCLrmFomV52nneBZoojmIQ9Z?usp=share_link
  9. Me again, to recap this is what I'm trying to achieve. I have a blooming flower that I want to make it grow around a frame. I have followed all the tutorials on the topic and I have managed to create the growing effect using vertex maps and fields. All good up there. But the big issue I have is to offset the time of the flower blooming. At the moment all the flowers bloom at the same time and I have tried all the methods I have found on the topic and still I haven't been able to make it work. I have made a simple scene to share my process hoping out there could have an advice!! I am using the original animated flower cloned in a linear set with a fixed animation mode and I am using a linear field plane effector to control with the time offset set at the duration of the animation but as you can see in the image it doesn't work. for the original file I baked as alembic the animated flower and I tried controlling its offset time by animating the key from the object mode but without success. I am adding screenshots of my settings, hopefully anyone out there could suggest something? Thanks

  12. Hi there, I have a cloned blooming flower animated on a surface trying to trigger it with Plain linear field. I have set the animation mode fixed in the cloner and within the linear field the time offset has ben set to the duration of the animation but I am having issues setting up the plain linear field to control the growing the flowers from the bottom right hand side. I have been looking into tutorials and I know I can Animate the field but my challenege is to create a seamless growing effect from the bottom right hand side and then around the frame. Currently when I move the field all the flowers bloomed at the same time. I have animated the flower on its own with linear field tp control the scale and baked it as alembic and all good up there. Any advice in the ideal way to set the field to achieve this? any tip I very much apprecite. Thanks

Hi, I have animated a Helix spline with a formula and a field (for a guitar string) and I've used the sweep generator to get the different string thickness. but I have been asked to apply a very specific material detail which I will make in Substance painter so my issue is to UV unwrap the sweep which I assume it must be make editable in order to do it but once the it is editable the formula animation is lost. I have tried to child the spline animation to the polygon object and still it is not working. Is there any way I can link the spline animation to the polygon object? or can anyone advise the best way to do it? I am using the animation on a third party engine for a real time project so I can't rely on the UV's material projection from Cinema. Thank you
