  1. Hi, have you tried with the c4d file i attached? The Rendersettings should have a high resolution, for example 4000x4000pixel. Then try in redshift viewer first "fit window" then "original size" I have C4D Version 2024.1.0 and Redshift 3.5.20 I just also deleted the redshift baked textures and memory caches, didn't make a difference in rs viewer output unfortunatly. Yes it's really strange, i just realized the reflection also changes when i change camera distance to the object.
  2. Thanks for the tip with the Legacy Bump Sampling Technique. I just tried it but it doesn't seem to change anything in my example scene, unfortunatly. I'm curious if for example Octane has the same behaviour, i will try and write an update here soon.
  3. Hi, yes i already made a support ticket and got an answer, but i'm not sure if that's really all, that's whay i asked here again . Here is what the support wrote: "The issue is the Noise itself. With a very small detail Noises, you use a small "Overall Scale", it becomes a bit mushy with small render resolutions, because you "loose" details."
  4. @Mash You're right thats also weird, i haven't noticed that. No idea why Redshift is handling it this way.
  5. I have the problem, that the scene in the redshift renderview looks very different if i choose fit window, compared to original size, see screenshots attached and project file. The reflection and the bump map in the scene look totally different. I very often have this issue, when i create materials for a product shot and use fit window. The final render in higher resolution looks very different, which causes lot of changes and additional work. It seems to happen with bump maps and maxon noises. Does anybody know a workarround for this or have any suggestions for me? Thanks, Rainer Here's the project file i used. c4d_renderview_bug.c4d
  6. Hey everybody, some month ago i created some poses for a character, having them stored in the Pose Library Browser. I'm on a new workstation now, trying to transfer those poses from the older machine. Where are the poses stored, i don't find them anywhere. Thanks in advance Rainer
  7. Ok so after playing around for quite a while, i realized that the lines only show in the RedShift RenderView if i set the scaling to "fit to screen". At 100% Original Size everythings looks good. So sorry for stealing your time 🙂
  8. Hi everbody, I'm using a Fabric Material form GSG on an Object with Cubic Protection. I tried both with an without tri planar node. I'm always getting a subtle line between the tiles, which i need to get rid off. Does anyone has a idea would i could do? cheers Rainer
  9. Ok, i thought if i volume mesh the VDB, i would be able to export the mesh as an alembic. But yes looks like this is not possible. But i haven't tried with Nitro Bake yet in lack of a license, probably that could do it.
  10. Here is a dropbox link to the project file if someone wants to give it a try. -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/a7uz5ifhisl1htw/2023-02-04 PyroMushroom.c4d?dl=0
  11. Yes i cached the sim as a vdb. When i try to export the vdb cached Pyro Object as an alembic, the alembic file shows no geometry and has only 1kb. I would like to have an alembic file for better retiming. I found a workaround now with Keyframing the Time Scale inside the project settings, but an alembic file would be more flexible. In the meantime i tried it also on a PC, same, so it seems it's not an mac problem at least.
  12. Or has anyone an idea how i could bake the animated geometry to be able to retime it?
  13. Hello everybody, I have built a simple scene with a pyro simulation, which i mesh using the volume mesher. I'll put that into a remesh obejct to get better topology. Everything works fine so far. Now i would like to export this a an alembic for retiming ability and better performance. But the alembic files is always only 1kb with no geometry in it when i open it in c4d. I tried with export -> alembic and set settings like in the screenshot. I also tried to use a connect object. Tried to export the remesh, the volume mesher and also only the baked pyro simulation. Nothing worked so far. I have the newest version of c4d running on a macbook m1 max. Has anyone an idea?
  14. I have the same behaviour on both Windows and OS X. Haven't also found a solution yet.
