Redshift post processing effects as a separate pass?
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
Hey Zedon, Thank you for the gibt. -
Hello C4Ds, 1. Is it possible to get post processing effects like bloom and flare from Redshift on a separate pass so that I can later add them on the original image? And a second question. 2. When I add an image as a background image into my camera the image looks a bit brighter, the highlights burn out a bit and also is a bit blurier when I render it out. The image has a -sRGB profile and C4D also uses -sRGB. Any hints to solve this? Another profile for instance?! Thanks Björn

Add Cubic Projection on existing UVW map on Football
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
WOW! I never would have figured this out without you! Thank you so much. -
Hello C4Ds, It seem so easy but I miss the right puzzlepieces. I have the task to unfold a texture on a football to a specific uvw projection. There is a specfici UWV map already on a football. The new texture (6 circles) works perfect on the football with a cubic projection. How can bake?! the circle projection to the existing UWV projection to later export the uv texture? Any hints? Thank you Björn Ball02.c4d

Replace low poly car with high poly car in dynamics
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
Hi Mesh, AWESOME. Didn't know about that trick. That solves it. And @Cerbera thank you for you thoughts as well. 😉 -
Hi Cores, , I am trying to duplicate a car via a cloner and then have them interact within a simulation. Unfortunately the calculation then becomes too intensive. So I thought I would use a low poly version of the car and then link it with a the mesh deformer Cage to control the high poly car with it. The simulation works fine but I don’t get the high poly car linked to the cloned low poly version. Any hints how I can solve that? preview1.mp4 794530945_3DCarsTest.c4d

Hey Zeden, this is what I already did. But for example I forgot to render out a green mask for the cube and need to render the puzzle matte again. I look for a solution to just render something like the puzzle matte without the render intense beauty channel. For this example it is not a big deal, but I have a 15 second animation with a lot going on. The beatuy channel takes quite some time. Any Ideas?

I used the redshift Puzzlematte in the AOVs. Ah, do you mean the RS Object tag and enable matte? This could work. All my objects turn Black. How to I set the red color? Via emission color? Or should I export it as alpha?

Here are some renders if this solves the problem. 😉

HELLO C4Ds, At the moment I turn down the quality render settings and turn off the lights to speed up the render. I am wondering if there is a quicker way to render out just a red puzzle matte without rendering the beauty? At the ent i just want to render it quicker. Any hints? Thanks Björn

Hello Core 4D, I would like to orbit some stones around an arch that I shot in real life. The stones fly first behind the arch and then in front of the arch. When I create a Puzzle Matte of the stones I only have one selection of the stones. But How can I get two different selection of the same stones. One for the back part and one for the foreground. So that I can use them as two different layers in After effects. I added an example image where all the stones are on the foreground. Is there kind of an threshold matte selection existing? Once the stones pass a certain depth they turn from red to green for instance? Or is there an even better solution for that? Can't wait to hear your thoughts. Björn

Hello I imported a garment from Marvelous Designer to Cinema. Now I added a cloth tag to the garment. But it falls apart. When I start the simulation. Is there a way to add garment to a moving character and not exporting the garment as an animated alembic? Any hints? Thanks Björn 1721806102_femalecloth.c4d

Problem adding a my Mixamo Character to a MIXAMO RIG
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
@zeden I found the problem. The trick is to select the weight tag and then select: "Set deformed mesh" Then the Mesh stays in place with the skeleton. rigged03.mp4 -
Problem adding a my Mixamo Character to a MIXAMO RIG
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
@zeden Okay, I give it a try and see where it leads me. I Didn't expect that rigging is that fragile. Watching other tutorials everything looks so easy and kind of straight forward. -

@zedenmaybe you can answer me why the mesh jumps out of place after I hit the Transfer Weights button? rigging03.mp4 -
Problem adding a my Mixamo Character to a MIXAMO RIG
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
Oh WOW! That worked! Why are they doing that and why nobody in tutorials mention that. That is really a gamechanger for me. I tried rigging with mixamo a couple of times in the last month and always got frustrated because it was locked. Thank you so much. 😘 -
l, I've been trying to rig a custom character to a MIXAMO character for days. At the end I want to drag my mesh into the weight transfer field but for some reason this is not possible and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. does anyone have a tip? I attached the file and a short screen recording of my workflow (60 sec) Thanks Björn rigging issue.mp4 1901914951_riggingissue.c4d

Hi, Can anyone tell me what I do wrong. When I export a still sequence to an mp4 the mp4 looks fine in the OSX Finder and in Quicktime. When I airdrop it to my iPhone oder on Whatsapp it looks way darker. In After Effects: "Interpret Footage as linear light turned ON" brings the final result. But I don't want to go through After Effects to share just some tests clips. Any solutions? 🙂

Exclude one object from an overall dropshadow
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
I'm using Redshift. -
Hello, I would like to hide some light hitting a car with a flag. But it also creates a drop shadow on the ground, that I don't want. How can I cast a shadow on a specific object and not on another one? (i try to hide the red spill on the car but wants the dropshadow of another light source) Or in short I know you can exclude Object from different light sources. I search for exactly the opposite. To exclude Objects from dropshadows. Thanks Björn

Using a Rigid Body in the new Soft Body Simulation
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
Is there a way to make a soft body so stiff, that it acts almost like a rigit body? I tried to crank up the number of poles and making them less soft but this didn't really work. -
Hi I would like to make an animation with the "new" soft body simulation. A Bottle floating in circles with some textiles. The textiles are soft bodys and the bottle is currently a collider body. the problem is the bottle should be influenced by the dynamics. Is there a way to have a "rigid body" in the new soft body simulation? Oder do I have to switch back to the old simulation? Textile waves02.c4d

Object inside moving soft Body doesn't follow
Björn Ewers replied to Björn Ewers's topic in Cinema 4D
Great, that was exactly I was looking for. Thank you! -
Hello Cores, I would like to simulate Typo and a Christmas tree. the Typo are Cloth Soft Bodies. The Christmas tree is so detailled that I thought I just put it into a simple Cone shape and put a Softbody tag on the cone. So the Cone is interacting with the typo and the Simulation and the tree is just following the rotation and position. But the tree isn't moving at all. What is wrong? Thank you Björn HOHOHO.c4d

Control objects via fields without inside a cloner?

Yeeees, this is exactly I was looking for. Thank you 😍
