  1. I actually started the project with the anamorphic ratio on and using the anamorphic footage in a background object. The background object only looked unstreched with the anamorphiic ratio on. I'm comping in After Effects and now I realise that the footage I'm using is actually 9216 x 3164 when used in a square pixel ratio, which is a bit insane. That explains why C4D is doubling the render times. I guess the solution is either to render 4608 x 3164 (9216 x 3164 with the 2:1 ratio on) to match the footage perfectly, or render a 2304x3164 frame and scale the footage to fit 4608 x 3164 with black bars on top and bottom. In any case, thanks for the explanation!
  2. Hi, I'm rendering some 3D assets in Cinema 4D to be comped over anamorphic footage and need to understand how to correctly render an Anamorphic 2:1 pixel ratio. The footage I'm working on is 4608 x 3164 px with an Anamorphic 2:1 pixel ratio. It all works correctly, but when I render from C4D using the 2:1 aspect, the Picture viewer shows a resolution of 4608 x 3164 (9216 x 3164). Does the number in brackets mean that C4D is calculating a 9216 px image? When I choose the 2:1 pixel aspect, my render times double, so I imagine that is the case. Is that the correct way of rendering this? Thanks.
  3. Thanks for the explanation!
  4. Hi, I'm working with some camera footage that was shot on an Arri Alexa 35 with a 40mm lens. I've got the camera's film back information which is 27.99mm x 19.22mm. The camera in C4D only has one value for the sensor size (film gate) and it doesn't make much sense to me. How can I input the correct camera values into C4D? Thanks!
