  1. Looks like 3DS MAX is the Java of DCCs
  2. This is an old one... A graphic's designer nightmare
  3. Initially I used it to cluster the spheres more tightly close to the center. This was a more prominent effect when I used low-poly spheres for the position of the particles. But later I increased the number to match your image, the large number of particles didn't let any empty room so the Attractor was just a remnant.
  4. I thought creating a topic where everyone can share their own jokes or throw any computer graphics related funny image or video they recently came across on the internet. I'll go first avQ6vyZ_460svav1.mp4 Relaxing, endless looped videos are also welcomed aEqVydp_460svvp9.webm
  5. Have a look at this and tell me if there's something particular you'd like too add particles.c4d
  6. I never expected a solution like this ! It not only includes black magic Python script in XPresso but also Material Nodes I hadn't seen for ages...
  7. Why do you prefer making a nucleus out of particles and not instances through MoGraph ? Is there some specific aspect of your project that benefits from particle physics rather than bullet physics ?
  8. From what I read the reason for taking it down wasn't that people did not pay him or credit him (although in some Creative Commons I think you are obliged to give credit, I don't know what kind of license he used) but because he was constantly flooded with messages from people that harassed him. I think that's what mentally broke him.
  9. I serched for JSplacement because I remembered how cool it is only to find the webpage has a disaponting message. Later I found a Reddit thread with a reply to a similar post: That's very sad. I really hopped for a new version or something after all this time since I last used the app before formatting my PC. I've found the app in the internet archive if anyone is interested. and two similar web-based apps : https://morenicogs.github.io/Nicogs-JSplacement/index.html# https://xdisplacement.netlify.app/
  10. That's actually a feature. It is mentioned that they simulated how tires compress and deform (1:38)
  11. @Timothy L , @Fritz, @Zerosixtwosix I think what OP whants to have is a gradient clampt to the bounding box of the object and free to rotate aligned to the camera's position. If that is the case it should look like this: For visualization purposes I used a Field to show the size of the gradient and its orientation. The "bad" thing with this solution is that it distributes the color to individual objects and not per polygon. The transparent box is supposed to represent the bounding box of a cloner or a group null. I also had to manually position the screenshots to demonstrate the effect because I do not know how to achieve this using Expresso. If this is what @Timothy L wants I am also curious to know how it can be achieved.
  12. hmmm... 🤔 never thought about that before.
  13. With what tools would you patch it in quads without the latest Close Polygon Hole enhancements ?
  14. Is this the roundness you're looking for ?
  15. Could it be that you've set Photoshop to CMYK or some other color space ?
  16. Could you tell us which XPresso node does this ? Or is it some more elaborate setup ?
  17. You just need to pay attention where each object's Z axis is oriented to. You don't even need Fields. But there isn't a 1-click solution. You will still need to group objects according to their final position timestamp. assembly.c4d
  18. I cleaned it as much as possible. The steps I took are hidden. The order is in reverse (from bottom-to-top). If you have any questions don't hesitate asking. grass-front-03 happy polygon.c4d You should test some extra parameters from the export menu of Rhino. Here there is an option about exporting Ngons. It might help for future cleaner geometries. I assume the file was obj. @Fritz please take a look of a buggy behavior I found. At the final reconstruction step, in the Extrude Attributes, any value above 29.98 at the Grid Spacing results in an unimaginable dense grid. For some reason instead of getting bigger polygons it looks like it reverts to 0.1. Could be just R23, or a perpetuating bug.
  19. Ah yes! I remember that one. The "opal" painting is superb. I remember a fuss about the similar effect in RedShift when R2023.2 was announced but I didn't notice that "depth parallax" effect in their presentation, it looked exactly like that car paint when R16 introduced material nodes and the Uber Material.
  20. Presenter: - I don't see the Loft... Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Screen: *opens final project, grabs loft, goes back to presentation project* I'll wait for SIGGRAPH 2023 (6-10 August)
  21. What version of C4D is this ? I don't see any particles being generated and my Viewport has a Red outline
  22. The Geometry Axis Node moves the object's axis within it's bounding box. Maybe you could look inside that capsule to investigate how it is done
