  1. You can set the C4D hair to generate geometry, then you can render with any engine
  2. Uploaded the files! Everyone who has already purchased the product will receive the download link in a few hours, those who have not yet purchased should harry up because the discounted price will end tomorrow 😉 https://www.3dtutorialandbeyond.com/...rugcollection/ I’ll post a tutorial very soon!
  3. The collection is ready! Here you can check the online catalogue: https://www.3dtutorialandbeyond.com/store/pdf-rugs/ And here you can download a free sample: https://www.3dtutorialandbeyond.com/store/rugcollection/ If anyone is interested we are offering a special presale price until July 11
  4. there are several ways, even without using volumes there is the spline modifier, otherwise you can keep using the volumes and use the remesher tool to get nice topology
  5. I've already recorded a video about my workflow, from creating the maps to the final render, I'll upload it in the upcoming days;) Depending on the rug model render time for a 2K image is between 5 and 20 minutes on an average CPU, RAM consumption between 5 and 15GB (only one model required more than that, but it can be easily optimized if needed). System was always responsive running the interactive renderer for tuning the look of the fur. Here is an example after 60 seconds of rendering (with and without denoiser), time to first pixel 3 seconds, LC 5 seconds (is a 2K render but I think quality and resolution are reduced after the upload):
  6. Hi, for many of them I took inspiration from real world rugs, I use Procreate and PS to create custom texture for diffuse, bump, bending etc. For other made out of coconut fiber I mostly use real geometry.
  7. A few model made in the last few days: Mix silk/wool rug, render, specular and normal channel:
  8. Hi everyone:) I'm taking advantage of a few quite days to build a collection of high quality rugs for Vray for Cinema4d. Some of them were super fun to do so I though I'd share the work in progress with you, hope you like them and if you have suggestion on how to improve the look let me know! This is the latest one, made using Chaos Scatter,Vray Fur, and C4D cloner for the seams, almost 3 Billion polygons rendered using less than 10GB of RAM:
  9. Hi everyone, I do not have access to my PC right now, is there anyone that can convert this small Max file to .obj or .fbx please? RH Modern Luke Leather Chair.max.zip
  10. By adding a couple spline modifier you can get more control and still have full procedural geometry:
  11. Here is my solution, it took no more than 5 minutes. 100% procedural, plus a bump map for the small wrinkles, it can still be tuned with a few more minutes of work to get better results.
  12. That’s surely interesting, but the repeating tiling problem has been already resolved by several engines, here is an example:
  13. Here is a test using Vray CPU, rendered @3000x10000pixel, image and full res crop. No simulation, I've used just a cloner with a random effector, this should not affect render time. It took about 40 seconds, on your system should take 3 minutes using Vray, even on your render engine should take less than an hour.
  14. I don’t use the standard engine but even on the slowest renderer that scene should take minutes, not days. I’m 100% sure there is large room for improvements.
  15. Already have that plugin, is decent for distant views but not good enough for closeup since the leaves orientation is a bit messy. I've use it here, as said at this distance it works fine:
  16. You should hide the serial number of your computer, just like any other personal information. I've used the same machine for a while and is fast enough, if you can show an example of what you are doing it will be easier to understand if the long render times are justified or if there's room for improvement.
  17. Quick solution, use an online render farm that support your engine. Slow solution, optimize your scene, probably there's a large margin of improvements if you know what to do.
  18. Thanks to all for your solutions, I try a few of them but none was optimal/fast so I ended up arranging premade assets to my geometry. I'm satisfy with the results but I would still like to grow the plants over my structure procedurally, so if you still have some ideas let me know. Maybe I need to look at other simulation plugins or external software like Houdini..
  19. The old plugin don't work anymore.. are there any Ivy generator alternatives for C4D 2023?
