Hi all, I need to render an animation so that it can be used as the 'Hero' animation for a website home page. It is only 5 seconds long. I exported an image sequence of my animation. Can I use Premiere Pro to export it again for the web or is there a way straight out of C4d? I'm thinking the file size will need to be manageable without losing quality. Thanks in advance guys L:oving the Cafe again.

Hey thanks for the reply. I didnt know about this.

I have used the Motion Tracker to set up a scene. I am using Dynamics so I set my project size to Meters in the project settings so I can use real world sizes. When I run the Motion Tracker solve I get a really small setup. here is the Primitive Man standing in the setup. Can anybody give me advice on properly setting up a motion tracked scene ready for large size Dynamic simulation? Any advice is most appreciated.
-
Hi Happypolygon. Thank you for that. I disabled motion blur and that has fixed the problem. I was ignoring the warning about caching a simulation before rendering, because I am a nob.

Hi all, I am rendering out a simulation with Physical Render. i am using Physical because I want to use motion blur. I have been testing my scene with standard render. When i switch to physical render i get a different result. My simulation looks different. Only the Standard renderer gives a true render the same as my perspective view. Anybody now what is causing this?

Rendering a voronoi fracture object in the camera tracker
Keith Vick replied to Keith Vick's topic in Cinema 4D
Hi all, I have a couple of questions. I have been setting up my simulation. I have a pack of bags falling from the sky, it hits a voronoi and and rolls towards the camera causing the voronoi pieces to react as it rolls over them. I have a problem now though. How do I get the texture on the Voronoi to stick to the surface of the pieces. As it is the texture is set to frontal which is not quite what I want. It is making the pieces semi transparent as the texture is always facing the camera. Im guessing I have to bake down the texture to the Voronoi somehow. Can any member tell me how i can make my texture stick to the veronoi? How can I stop losing pieces through the plane i have as a collider for my fractured object. Also, when I solved my footage my measurements were set to cm. Will this affect the simulation as the sizes are so small? Should I start again with the project measurements on metres not centimetres? -
I dont understand how this was done. It looks great. I could really use this technique to make my model look more realistic. I would like to get a more smooth shiny texture for the face of the object.

Thats great. Thanks MASH. I am doing a product shot render now. I used the gradient and greyscale trick. Works well and render speed is greatly improved. Can any sage member give me some tips on getting the render a bit more realistic? I'm using Physical Render for now. I used the PET option in Fresnel. I would like to get a bit more highlights along the front and especially the ends of the roll. When I was making the model I bevelled the end. Can I quickly remove the bevel as It make my texture seem to fold over the end?

That is a really nice solution.

Hi MASH. Thanks for your interest. How do I go about creating the random greyscale circles in the texture? Doing it manually is a pain.

Rendering a voronoi fracture object in the camera tracker

H, thanks for the reply. I was trying that and couldn't get it to work. I thought I was losing it until I realised I hade a plane object visible in the render. -
Rendering a voronoi fracture object in the camera tracker

Silly question. How do I hide my fracture object in the viewport and still have it render? -
Rendering a voronoi fracture object in the camera tracker
Keith Vick replied to Keith Vick's topic in Cinema 4D
OMG! You are the man! Thank you very much for your highly detailed answer. I didn't understand why they applied the footage to the geometry they use as the shelf. That makes it very clear. I'm making progress. I am able to use the Physical Render with the Sky Object and Not Seen By Camera on a compositing tag. I placed the same image sequence on my Voronoi Object as my camera track. With global Illumination i get nice shadows and the fractures start to show in the road through the texture. I set the textures projection to frontal. I'm not sure if this is correct. Again, thank you VIZN for that highly detailed answer. 🙂 -
Rendering a voronoi fracture object in the camera tracker

I found this video where they use Physical render on a camera tracked object but I cant work out what he is doing here? Can anybody tell me how they are doing this? -
Evening all. I have a question. I have created a simulation of a cylinder rolling down the street. As it goes it fractures a Voronoi Object. I need to make it look good. I will be using the Physical renderer and Physical sky but I hit an obstacle as soon as I bring it in. I hit render and I lose my footage and get an untextured render. How do I tell Physical sky to render the object against the camera tracked footage? Or are there any good tutorials on physical sky and camera tracker? I find they are all using Red Shift on Yoo tube.

Dropping Voronoi Simulation into Camera Tracker
Keith Vick replied to Keith Vick's topic in Cinema 4D
Oh dear. what a lamo question. As easy as dropping it straight into the scene and rescaling it. -
Hi all, I have two scenes. In one I have a simulation of a cylinder rolling over a Voronoi fracture. In another i have used the Camera Tracker to solve some video footage and place a plane object into the scene matched to my camera. I need to combine the two scenes so that it looks like my Fracture simulation sits in the Camera Tracked footage. Can any sage members here tell me how I can do this? Point out any pitfalls I may encounter? Keith PS. My Fracture object sit on a plane. How do I stop the pieces from cracking before the roll moves over them also how do i get the voronoi object to sit on the plane nicely at the start of the simulation?

Hi Vizn I'm sorry for the late reply I haven't been on here for a couple of days. Yes i see the label should be saved lengthwise in order o fit. Thank you. and thank you to Cerbera for the modelling tips. I will surely use this technique for my final animation. For speed I just threw my model together but its hardly an elegant solution. Too many Polygons, so I placed the model under a Mesh deformer and applied Physics to that. Its working but isnt a very nice solution. Thanks for the great tips folks.
-
Ok its going well. Too much geometry for Soft Body so I used a Mesh deformer and now i have a decent enough model which i can use dynamics on. Can anybody tell me why i cannot resize the label i have applied to a polygon selection. Edit: My bad I overlooked the Offset in the Material Tag.

Thanks guys. I have gone very simple. I just dropped a rectangle and a helix under a sweep and stuck it on each end. I think this will be good enough.
-
Thanks for the prompt replies guys. The wrinkles in the pack are not important. The ends of the pack don't have to be perfect just describing the basic pattern. I will be animating so don't want a lot of geometry. I just need to trick the camera for a second or two. I have never done any uv wrapping or anything like that. Is there a way i can use a bump map?
-
Hi all, I have a question. I am modelling this roll of a pack of bin liners. How would the members here go about modelling the ends of the pack with the spiral of the bags sticking out? Also any tips on texturing the black plastic of the bags would be most welcome. Doesn't need to be perfect. Thanks in advance y'all.

Thank you Bezo.

I set the mode to Pixel in the strokes tab. That seems to have done the trick.

Hi guys, been away a little while. Nice to be back. I am rendering a line drawing of a sofa. Just simple shapes. I am having issues with some lines missing from the render when I tilt my view to the angle I need. Thanks in advance sofa model.c4d
