  1. @Vizn @Jeff H1 Hi Both, thanks very much for the replies; it turned out that upgrading to the 2023.1 solved the problem and I was unaware that holding shift works for moving along one side of the curve--appreciate both of your replies thank you!
  2. HI All, In the past I've been able to create a bezier spline and rotate individual points along the spline so that they'll redirect the next segment of the spline. Recently in C4D 2023 I've only been able to move these points but cannot rotate. Not sure if there's a setting I'm missing? Thanks for any help! Joe
  3. Oh thanks, Bentraje - I had been trying that but could not figure out the source of the colors. Just tried using the node and found the parameters I was looking for in the base properties. Thanks for the help!
  4. Hi All, I'm looking to create a fresnel or 'falloff' effect' on objects using Redshift shaders and I'm not quite sure how to achieve it and I have not been able to locate a tutorial or article. You'll see this on red blood cell animations where the cell remains red and the whitish edge fades to the center based on the camera angle. In C4D's standard materials (before I started learning Redshift, I'd add a fresnel to the luminance channel but I'm not sure how to configure for Redshift. A second part to this question is whether you'd recommend building this in one material or to use the new material stacking (so one material would be the fresnel (in the blood cell example it would be the white edge) with an alpha to reveal the color on the second material (the red of the cell itself). Thanks in advance for any help! Joe
  5. Hyde, thanks very much for the information and Mike A, thanks a lot for taking the time to put together the file above. Really appreciate all of the help especially since I was trying to set the clones up manually. Thanks again!
  6. Hi All, I'm looking for a straightforward way to create multiple smart phones using a cloner but to display a unique screen on each (using jpegs as texture maps) to show multiple social post designs. I currently have a plane on the phone with a RS standard texture and it seems that there is a way to have a single material applied but using RS nodes to allow for the multiple textures to iterate on the screens (so each screen is unique). I'm using C4D R26.107 and RS 3.5 Thanks for any advice! Joe
  7. Oh thank you - I had thought it was part of the current release. Thanks very much @Havealot!
  8. Using C4D R26.107 and RS 3.5.6. Online presentation at Siggraph Day 2 showed that 'stickers' or 'decals' should now allow for users to create a RS standard material, add a PNG, use a color splitter to separate the alpha channel and stack the materials with another in the layer manager (more similar to traditional C4D workflow). I'm able to get the alpha to work so the top 'sticker' has transparency but the lower material that's stacked (base color) will not show. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help! Joe
