  1. Was testing out the workflow from Character Creator to Clarisse which was a bit tricky. It needs to go through Blender / C4D then onto Clarisse but I need to figure some stuff out before I can do character renders in there. I'm going to use CC to C4D for my character stuff until figure out Blender more. The face animation is a setting from a Reallusion pack called digital souls. All customizable as far as I know. This was just a test to see if I can get a render done between the apps

  4. Paying a sub for C4D, but not getting access to the full C4D. Sounds crazy. I wouldn't be too pleased with that either.

  7. I'm searching for old threads using key words but it isn't showing any results. Is it 'broken' or am I doing something stupid?

Over the last weekend I spent some more time with XParticles I wanted to have some camera movements in this but the project became corrupted somehow when trying to add camera keyframes it crashes I liked how the last shot in the previous animation looked and wanted to do an extended version with a tree in it. I was thinking of adding a character sitting by the tree with a bicycle as well but didn't have time to do that. Maybe will revisit it again if time becomes available.
  9. With the Christmas render I liked my last shot in that so made a loop still. Used xparicles for snow and Trapcode Particular along with Shine for some glitter snowflakes over the snowman. Although they're not easily spotted. Maybe will increase their amount next year
  10. Time to update my Sketchbook! Didn't get any renders done during most of 2022. These were some that I done around a year ago when I was playing with Trapcode Particular and Tao Then a few weeks before Christmas I got time to go over my Christmas render from the previous year and improve it
  11. Thanks Happy! Yeah it's a straightforward set-up. Inside a Torus with a Spec shader applied. An emissive shader applied to rectangle on align to spline spinning inside Torus. X-Particles with combo of trails and particles emitting from the Torus, with the Torus spinning in opposite direction of the emissive rectangle. With a single HDRI in background. There's a slight wind applied to the tree. Just in AE I applied slight cam move towards the layers. Even though it's straightforward something corrupted the project that prevents me adding keyframes to C4D camera 😅
  12. Thanks very much for that Daniel! I'll check the settings out again. I must have done something wrong the last time. It was a long export but no wind animation. I'm happy relinking shaders as that's straightforward. Doing the alpha channel in PS is a bit of a pain but I think I can automate that when I'm getting stuck into it properly. Yeah I'm 100% using the plugin too. Its very handy and simple. I'm actually rendering out a loop today with one of your trees. I'll post it up here this evening when it's done. I initially had some confusion with installing the libraries but your support was very helpful and pointed me in right direction. Overall I'm really delighted with it 🥰
  13. Of course! Clarisse iFX will be my main app for larger scenes and currently using C4D for smaller scenes. At some stage I'll need to swap C4D for Blender. Figuring out the workflow to Clarisse at the moment I think I've to animate trees in C4D in order to bake to alembic for Clarisse import.
  14. You can do it using vertex maps. Say for example one of the tyres would have a field as it's child to follow position and that will track through the vertex map to reveal the other texture. If you search for c4d Redshift vertex maps there may be tutorials on it.

  17. That's interesting. I had to disable quick start dialog recently on my R23 due to it bugging out. Must be due to whichever changes have taken place to cause broken link.
  18. Mike is awesome, so knowledgeable about Octane. ACES in Octane 2021.1 is a breeze. Just tick a button and it's on. No need for OCIO file. Then to bake ACES into render choose the below and save as a render setting

  21. That was nearly 2 years ago. I think it undermines OP about opening the forum up. Igor replied to that as well. I'd prefer if the forum was more accessible too but it's not.
