  1. That's awesome! Will check it out. One of the pages isn't working (Afterparty 8 )Page Not Found | noedle
  2. Jelly! Good stuff! There's 1 random frame in there
  3. Would it be possible to replace the date created with last updated? Just thinking from a new user arriving on the site. If a thread is 2 years old they would see the date from 2 years without realising the most recent post was a few minutes ago.
  4. Ooooohhhh, I never noticed that tab on the pop up. That's pretty cool! Thanks Igor!
  5. Hey Igor, I think last time big update was done it changed the date/time display of threads to when they were created. You changed it to display the most recent date/time? Is that something you'd change to again? I know the order of the posts has the most recent on top, but think it'd be nice to see the time/date of recent.
  6. Last version of the pod for a while.
  7. Yeah it's awesome. Such a nice improvement
  8. That's looking incredible. Can't wait to watch it
  9. Thanks a million! Yeah I had to reign in the ideas a bit when I seen how long the cloud renders were taking. I guess the issue was all I knew I wanted was some space thing with the Pod. The clouds were originally going to be just in the distance on entry but I didn't like how the texturing was looking for that so just thought I'd focus on the clouds and end it there too. This is previz I done. Originally I wanted to build out an environment with World Creator and have the pod flying down there One of first renders of I done of the pod but opted for a cleaner texture. In hindsight I think I should have stuck with worn look Then this was initial rough idea for down on planet with WC Sorry, went on bit of tangent there! So the stars/nebula are two HDRI's combined. The nebula fractal is using one of The French Monkey's Fractal Domes. I think when I switched to ACES for that first shot got nice dark color in background. Yeah I have motion blur enabled in Octane of 0.02 for the 24fps. On the LCR course this is covered in super detail, really big eye opener for me. Then the star map is one from NASA or I might have used the one from LCR course. You could even make star map using noise in Photoshop.
  10. I applied the Travis Davids raindrops to the window and think it works. They're not tale-able so scaling made it kind of break. Left it at default with some rotation on axis. Done really low-res test render @20 seconds per frame using 20 samples. Applied denoiser plugins in AE. I might have set samples in Octane previously when it was taking 9+ mins per frame. Will see how low can get away with for the last render.
  11. Oh yeah I noticed that some of your sigs but forgot to ask. I'll check that out 💪👍
  12. Ohh that's neat! Good stuff man!
  13. Ah cool Igor, yeah I think it looks really great. 💪 Sorry, maybe my second question is a bit confusing. I meant in the future if adding new tabs, does that mean the existing tabs get smaller or you will need to scroll over to see new tabs.
  14. That looks very nice Igor! Everything much more readable. Does it allow you to add new tabs for anything in future? Like if everything can't fit on one page can it scroll over?
  15. Thanks a million Das! I hope you manage better render times than me! 😅 Yeah I'll be trying a few more sci-fi themed shorts over next few months. Used this as a kind of dry-run for other projects. Really want to get some nice cloud shots, but see how it goes 🤞
  16. Oh yeah I was thinking of applying Travis Davids raindrop material on the window but decided against it. I was trying to see if I could do a render pass with the water material on the window and then comp that in but I couldn't figure it out at all. I've learned a lot on this one and know some big areas I missed. Really have to practice UV's and multi-pass as I couldn't figure out a bunch of stuff over the weekend. I'm sure I'll come back to this one again with the different feedback I've gotten and apply it. For the moment though I'll put these current shots together after work today and call it final.
  17. Removed one of the roughness shaders from the window and added made the clouds more defined. I was going to add sparks to this shot as a continuation from the previous shot but was experiencing a lot of crashes and just fired it off to render. It was a 9 hour render with 500 samples in Octane. I'll cut this shot a bit short in the final version just before the cloud comes through the window where it's pretty noticeable. Ideally I wanted to split the window from the clouds as separate renders which would have allowed me add more comp elements but it would have made this too long a render than what I could afford. Maybe some stage in future will do it.
  18. Ha, yeah I feel the same actually. With the first shot it's causing me issues. I might put ACES on hold for a bit and use it on a project from the start rather than trying to fit it into something almost finished.
  19. I redone shot 2 with increase in particles, faster wind, faster pod animation and motion blur. Also enabled ACES in AE correctly this time so will have that in place for the finished piece
  20. Awesome Das! Yeah my mate said similar about the entry particles to maybe speed up that one. I'll try a couple of different things like more and faster. The window view I think it's a combo of roughness on the window and a noise reduction I applied in post that's making the view way more blurred. The image below is the C4D render which the glass is blurred already. I might remove that roughness or reduce it. Will try render out the Window with alpha and the clouds separately because that was around 9 min per frame. Nice one Igor! Yeah man I'll happily be a volunteer shill for EJ & David Ariew's School of Motion C4D courses 😇. Completely opened up how to approach 3D for me. Great thing is it's stuff that can be applied across any software. Still 3 lessons to finish on that which I'll be tackling after I get this one done.
  21. I think the embedded worked? This is short WIP animation I've been working on the last few weeks. I asked my friend if I could make some 3D version of his companies 2D logo. Another friend of mind modelled the pod and I put the shots together in C4D-Octane. I got some great feedback from one of the classmates of Lights, Camera, Render course about adding some flashes or more sparks outside the pod window. Also on adding more roughness or burn marks to the material. So I'll be working on those next. Sure let me know if any other suggestions or critique be much appreciated. Render times for the first 2 shots were about 4 - 10 seconds per frame. For the other shots with heavy VDB they were about 4 - 9 mins per frame. I possibly could optimise the scenes better maybe. I rendered out with Octane ACES but think I messed up because I didn't apply any further color correction in AE or AP. Maybe I'm supposed to make them ACES too or something?
  22. 100%. I went for the 2 year sub which is even more value.
  23. Maybe if we just post exactly what the Houdini limitations are it'd clarify things Source: Houdini Indie | SideFX
