i also wonder, is there ANY forum or discord server etc where there are all the c4d users today? also- how many c4d users are there out there, they must be somewhere;) i dont think so many went to other apps like blender, or am i wrong? i am aware many not use forums anymore, but maybe a discord server dedicated to c4d or the like? i somehow miss the times where all had been at one forum more or less together (like in very old tiles cgtalk) maybe making the core4d forum visible to visitors might help attracting some more, i agree with the posts above in that regard.

my experience: i am c4d user since v6/v7, atm i have r19 still in use for converting some old stuff, all real work in r25 meanwhile . r25 is the most stable for me since r19. despite several other people for me c4d improved in good ways, for our big scenes (4gb+) it is many times faster in many ways, rendering, and interface than in 19,20,21,23. many small and partly also bigger things improved. i had issues first with the r25 gui , but now i prefer it a lot over the old one. for me it is a pain to go back to r23 or even 19 for some conversion tasks. of course i hope too for improvements (modelling for me mostly)

i think , at least for my work, there are great nurbs modeller which are very capable of every days live for many tasks, for me the best is rhino3d. it is is a great nurbs modeller, it has subdivs (they can switch back and forth between nurbs or poly topology), rhino can render perfect,, displace, twist, deform, point, edge, face move, history, etc it includes grass hopper (like c4d geometry nodes but more advanced), and imports and and exports a big number of 2d and 3d formats. the meshing settings for export can be also set to be quads. for me it is the #1 companion to c4d, so i can use best from both worlds(poly c4d, nurbs rhino) the plasticity looks also quite nice , (a bit like moi for me)

Dear All, we are in search architectural 3d modellers who are capable of correctly reading and understanding 2d cad plans and can model precise nice, and clean arch models, in reasonable time frames, for rendering inside C4D (corona, vray, vantage, RS) Modelling is preferred to be made in C4D, or also in Rhino3d and/or Archicad. the open positions are as freelancer, and can be done from anywhere, probably as side job (not full time). speaking fluent english OR german is required. if you are interested or have questions send me a personal message here, so we can contact you. best greetings Stefan

funny thought,but yes you are right Paul:) i started first time c4d 1997 in new york,i think was v5 a mac. on v7 i started to render with in in Vienna at an architecture office. i think v8 studio,i bought then for my own work. Stefan

best google for the "NVIDIA FLEX simulation engine" which his basically is(integrated into c4d) this might show you what this nvidia softbody sim can do. from my experience it is for sure better than the internal solutions, x particles i not have tried. marvelous designer i only have an rather old verisons so not sure about this either, but marvelous is a very dedicated cloth sim, so i assume this is another thing -
Thanks a lot CApruzzese, glad you like it:) We work currently on a 1.3 update with some nice tunings and features, and also a 1.5 update, which will introduce a new "tracking" feature (-->> change a value in one shader, diffuse channel p.e, and all connected shaders will update automatic, like shape changes etc. across all the material/s). both for this summer! free to all our customers 🙂 best greetings Stefan

We updated our shader plugin "Q-TILE-PRO | surface engine" to version 1.2 this comes with an additional new design tool to generate "endless visually non repeating" surface textures also on huge surfaces in 1 click! this is great to generate "endless" asphalt, plaster, concrete, sand, gravel, pebbles, water waves, stones, marble and so on out of small texture inputs.
