Hi, relative C4D beginner here and what seems like a simple problem is driving me to distraction:
Building a noodle box animation where the box flaps fly open and cant get the rotation axises to behave how I want them to.
I'm trying to have a child object rotate on one aligned axis irrespective of the world position or parent position so the flaps open in the desired way, I think I've set it up correctly with panels aligned to the axis I want to rotate on but when I animate the rotation all three axis values change and the flap goes on quite a merry dance and doesn't do what it's supposed to.
Feel like I'm missing something really obvious and have been through quite a few YT videos to no avail.
Would love som help please.
Attached the file and the glitch animation file.
Thankyou.

Haven't quite cracked it yet, feels like the hierarchy might be wrong as the belt tag just won't let me connect the extra cloth piece to the loft even with the set selection tag moved from the deformer to the loft.
I've tried the cloth belt on the loft and also on the extra cloth piece but I can't get them to join.
Any other suggestions?
Cheers
Dave
Hey CBR,
Thanks so much for the speedy reply and yes, you are indeed correct, I'm on R19 here.
I haven't used the Correction Deformer before, will take a look with your instructions and report back.
Thanks again.
Best
Dave
Hi,
Beginner on C4D here.
I'm trying to animate a beach umbrella opening and have followed one of the online tutorials that uses splines / lofts and a cloner then a pose move to animate an open and closed state.
I'd like to add an additional cloth piece that hangs from the umbrella edge and had planned to use the cloth simulation and belt tag to connect it.
I'm aware that the cloth belt tag needs polygons to connect but when I "make editable" my umbrella it removes the animation - ie the pose morph open and close state are gone.
Would really appreciate any pointers on the best way to solve this.
All the best
Dave
