When Redshift is rendering, here are my temps, are these too high?
-
@imashination The Cinebench CPU (multicore) test is 23673 pts. The 10 minutes (Test Throttling) is 23535 pts The Redshift benchmark is: Redshift 3.0.66 (Windows) CPU: 32 threads, 3.40 GHz, 63.93 GB GPU(s): [NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 24 GB 0.030ms (RTX ON)] Time: 00h:02m:31s @MighT I've included a screenshot of the temps. When the CPU and GPU kick in, the temps go up though, not sure if that's normal. (Sorry, recovering Mac user). @3D-Pangel I have also included a screenshot of the Direct X tool Do you think i should take it to a computer store? Thanks!
-
@3D-PangelThank you for this, the laptop CPU is: intel core i7 10750H CPU @ 2.60 GHz The PC has: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16 core processor Not sure how to check how many PCIe lanes? The scene file is exactly the same on on both computers. Still very frustrating. I had just recently updated my graphics card, to be able to handle Redshift 3.0.66. It was constantly crashing, and that was the issue, but even then I was having these problems. There should be NO reason for this. Thanks again guys!

Hey guys, yes I only have the one gpu, no integrated graphics. I am in 3.0.66 currently.
-
@imashination That is already check on, and @Mike A I am still on R25, so i don't believe I have the hybrid option yet.
-
@MJVhmm... let me try that and see! Thanks!
-
@MJV I have the license through Maxon One, and how would I go about checking if GPU is activated in the render settings?
-
Redshift, and no, oddly enough the machine with the 3090 is pulling from an NVMe drive, and the 1660 is pulling from an older SSD.

Hello C4Ders, I recently put a computer build together, and I am using an RTX 3090 graphics card, and my render per frame is taking about 4 minutes. I render the same frame from the same scene on my laptop which has an RTX 1660 Ti, and the render is 45 seconds per frame. I am not sure how this is possible, and I don't know what I am missing. Not sure what to do. Thanks!

Hey C4Ders, I am trying to use the Redshift multi-shader to even distribute a certain amount of images across the equal number of clones, but no matter what i try, it doesn't seem to be working. The tutorials I watch all do it different ways, but they don't work for me, it seems that not all the images are being used, and some are being doubled, and i don't understand. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey C4Ders, I have currently been using redshift, and I am wondering (after purchasing multiple licenses). Is it possible to use older machines to team render with redshift? I have a 2010 Mac Pro specifically that has been upgraded although getting a redshift compatible graphics card isn’t probable, to my knowledge for an older machine. Thanks! Peter

@Cerbera Yes, I know I need to update. I just haven't gotten to it yet. Thank you very much for this information. I will try this for sure and see how well it works!

Hey C4Ders, I am working on a scene with a simple plain effector animation, and a box field to control movement. The plain effector is attempting to animate in some text, as you will see in the scene file. However, when I render out a viewport/full render, it moves the end placement of the text beyond the frame I want it in, it occasionally happens in the viewport as well, and when I render a frame individually, it works, very strange. Please let me know what this could be! Thanks! Peter weird_render_problem.c4d

Cerbera! Sorry, I didn't get a notification for some reason for these comments. Thank you for the compliment and critique! The reason i also included the separated clothes is because i wasn't sure what path I was going to go down. I think I will stick to having the underlying body just in areas where there would be no clothes, as you suggest, as I am trying to do a short film all on my own, so trying to keep it simple where possible and not have to bring in clothing dynamics. One of my concerns would be the ears, they look, off to me, but maybe they are okay. I will post again with some textures later on! Thanks again! Kingcoma, ditto, i didn't get a notification and I don't know why... I normally do. Still debating on the clothing option, thank you for the topology critique, I am going to go back and revisit those areas, and probably post again with textures and further progress as well! Thank you for the detailed comment!

Hey C4Ders, I didn't know what other topic to put this under, but I am in the process of making a character for a short film, and was just wondering if i could get some pointers/suggestions/critiques on my current WIP. Thanks in advance! Peter character_04.c4d

Hello C4Ders, I am a member/CG lead for a film club in East Texas. We are a nonprofit club based on growing skills and helping others out to advance their skillsets and grow as a community. We want to help people get the experience they would like or need; while also having a lot of fun and nerding out a bit, okay A LOT! We are locally based, however for our CG/VFX crew we are looking locally as well as for remote artists. CG artists, Animators, Riggers, Modelers, VFX artists, etc. are all welcome to join our crew of misfits. We are currently focused on making short films. The CG department on the other hand is rather new, and we are looking for a wide range of skills to have fun, grow, learn, get experience, etc (myself included). Please reach out to me if you have any questions and we can discuss further about the club! Best, Peter

Hello C4Ders, I have been scouring the internets for a tutorial on something I believe to be simple. So, I have rigged a character, but I have an "eye open" object" and a "blink" object, and i am needing a simple switch to switch between the two to animate easier, basically a switch that will toggle one visibility on of one object and turn the other off, and vice versa. I hope this makes sense! Thanks for your help! Peter

Hey guys! I have (what I hope to be) a pretty easy question that I can't seem to get a grasp on. I have a rotating object, say a sphere, in cinema, and I want to have another object, a plane, counter rotate as the sphere spins, while being a child of that parent(sphere). Please let me know if you have any ideas! Thank you! Peter

Wow, Thanks for the quick response guys! I will be checking both of these out, and let you know how it works out! The expansion of the rail is the major issue, and then getting them to animate with one controller, but that is not too pressing. I will put this to work. Thanks again!
-
Hello C4Ders, I have been trying to replicate a project I saw, where a railroad track is being built on, as it moves across screen. I am having a difficult time coming up with a solution for this. I want the track to expand, with the end of it bent up, to make it seem like it's constantly laying track, as well as the railroad ties appearing in place. I have some methods for doing this, but I cant seem to get the bend to move along with the rest of the rack that is expanding. I hope this makes sense. I will include a still. If you need anymore explanation, please let me know. I know it will have to be something with xpresso, I just am not sure. thanks in advance! Peter
