I've read through this "guide" already, but it's simply a compiled general overview of general usual ways to uninstall apps. Cinema seems to manage it differently. I clearly noticed there was some "uninstall" component added while I installed it, but I can't find where it's placed and how to use it. I'm almost certain there is a way, but can't figure it out.

I've got C4D R21 on MacOS. I wrecked something up and it doesn't start, for some reason - even after re-installation. I want to wipe it and install freshly once again. But the problem is - there's no uninstaller 🤨 How can we uninstall Cinema 4D on a Mac? Seems a stupid questions, but I'm confused

Maxon's Spring 2022 Launch Event | Live Stream | S26 Announcement
Intenditore replied to HappyPolygon's topic in News
An ostentatious lack of devs' attention to Timeline and many more areas needing urgent fixes for many releases already simply ruins all my hope for C4D future. I can't get what Maxon think about... Simply WHY? Making it Adobe way? -
I wonder, would anybody ever notice this problem?? 🤨
-
I do wonder - didn't really anybody had such problems? Am I the only one who needs such things?

I've got Asus Zephyrus G14. It has surprisingly bad trackpad, but it's supported by those very Microsoft precision drivers. And they DO NOT give an option to middle-click and drag. Click by itself is present, but it's not full-featured click'n'drag as it should be

I'm having currently a tunnel syndrome so mouse is painful to use for me. Also I'm always on the go so trackpad is essential. I used to use a notebook with a basic two-button Synaptics trackpad and RMB+LMB was the MMB, very handy. I made many projects with that. Now I'm on the Asus G14, it has a single button, very hard to press, overall trackpad experience is "meh... 😐". Gestures are utterly clunky, stepped, I can't zoom. Timeline gives no chance to interact with itself with trackpad. It's just horrendous! I tried 1/2/3 buttons. Seems nice, until you realize you have to toggle one of those AND PRESS DOWN trackpad. That's very cumbersome too. And... That's all. No way to use C4D on trackpad at all? Seems very stupid, especially considering "touch support" which is very limited and weird though. How to overcome this, what's a solution? I can't believe - a decade old machine is better for work than brand new top of the line laptop. There should be a fix I bet! I'm "ok" if there's a C4D internal solution but better if it's possible to add MMB support system-wide finally. Please help!

I took a deeper look at nodes. And here the things are harder to judge. I think that's a great system and I feel much sympathy to it's creators. But while it's not yet production-ready and we don't yet know how to utilize that, I think of more primitive things. Simply - what does this release give to my workflow? What does it really fix? And despite I see a revolution in nodes, I see no evolution in vital places we spend the time doing our work. Despite they're pretty easy to clean-up. So a vera controversial feeling emerges. Like there are two different worlds - of our work, and of development plans. Weird. About like in After Effects, but their devs just s*** on users for years, and every release is a laugh. Not quite, but close to it

Well… The novelties I saw in R25 seem a bit random. Like the team fixes and brings up some minor tweaks and cool little features but not even talking about magistral pathway of the program. Like «it’s all done, folks!». I think not quite. I was waiting since R17 for something of a different level of continuity - like «everything a mograph». AT LEAST make effectors affect not only mograph objects, but any parameter of any object for the beginning (so long awaited). Than, as I imagined could be a great idea, - make effectors procedurally affect animations, a little like 3ds Max's animation controllers which you can stack up. Than low-level geometry modifications (kingda implemented in nodes, but nodes themselves…). Instead of that - old problems and outdated solutions are still there full height tall. Like timeline - that’s sometimes painful to use when you do something serious as I do. It’s sluggish, it’s limiting, has absolutely no proceduality. I tried Blender - oh man… I cried. You showed some nice things. But why, WHY NEGLECTING IMPORTANT THINGS? It doesn't force you to rewrite a core or something like that, some very easy things and tweaks to ease our life. I even wrote all that you need to fix in my UX improvement list you completely discarded. Multicore utilization? Doesn’t seem to be there. UI? Not bad, but thin-stroked icons are now much harder to see. Seems the Adobe subscription mode took the power over you and all we get is a slow decline. That’s what we’ve been afraid of

I wish it would be a massive Timeline overhaul. It REALLY NEEDS ATTENTION. It's old, clunky, outdated. I feel it's more and more time and power-consuming to do there something after I once worked in Blender. Also I'm highly concerned with the degrading software quality and stability. I rarely get my r21 to crush (only while scripting and because of my own fault) but R23 already is considerably worse. It has a lot of bugs (in dynamics cache, extrude generator etc) and... it crushes! Just for no reason. I don't know why, but it's much less reliable. I was afraid it would happen, as well as development stagnation, right when devs told us about subscription options, and... It actually happens now 😞

I need to see how it exactly must work out, but I think I can help with that https://www.behance.net/ambiclusion https://vimeo.com/ambiclusion https://www.instagram.com/ambiclusion

r21 introduced a much enhanced multitouch trackpad support on Macs (if in previous versions it ever existed at all). It's much nicer, but... Not quite usable. Look, to move viewport now you have to alt + two finger move, to zoom - alt + pinch, to orbit... alt + CLICK. When you do something homogenous you quickly use to it and changing behaviour becomes a pain. Here we have to switch the way of operation (just moving fingers and clicking is vastly different here). It's inconsistent, forces to remember what you should do every time and makes a good concept not so nice at all. I think that should be MUCH better, simply excellent if you wouldn't have to click - ALT should enter you into navigation mode, so you only need to move the finger. I know there's a alt+RMB to select "throught" the object. But it's relatively rarely used (despite very handy) and can be re-assigned to another modifier key without a hassle. MAXON, please, consider this. It would be wonderful! And, I see Macs becoming a joke not really worth looking into anymore if you actually work, so I think the flee to PC will increase more and more. Windows precision driver allows good multitouch support on many different devices. Please, consider porting this principle into Windows version, I do ask.

But that's hard to understand. It's not a random example I mentioned - Adobe. They didn't listen at all and they still don't. Remember (if you're into the topic) a decade-old request to add folders into timeline. It could be as easy as showing a nested composition content in the containing composition timeline. And you know what? Nothing. They never ever listened to users and a few hundreds requests they made. So don't get me wrong, but... I wish I could take a part Yep, this pretty much means "forget it". Also, I do appreciate the returning of trusty offline help, but do you remember how much fight it took? I know as I was one of the most active in the thread and started that "oh no, don't turn Adobe" topic. Get me right, I do respect developers team and I objectively value C4D as one of the most solid and "human for human" pieces of software, but we are afraid not without a cause. I totally get it. So I don't even try to propose the things could be so hard to implement, mainly I focus on UI logic. There are some thought on conceptual basis of animation, for example, but I understand how hard it could be to add or change. I pretty much completely forgot there could be a plugin to fix something since I left 3ds Max ;D Thanks for the proposal)

I do so because I and many of my colleagues stumble on those things regularly. I spend a majority of my worktime in Timeline. And dope sheet often becomes very messy. For example, when I select an object there, all the children are selected too with all the keys they have. So I can't conveniently move parent's keys not touching children. And it has no logic behind - we can select all the children and parent with a single middle click. Now I have to tackle freaking rectangle selection every time which makes me mad often! Also, I can't make children keys not appearing on the parent, so I see a total mess on it's track, not the keys belonging to parent object solely. Soloing track animation does not respect the fact I might need other objects to keep moving. Also, it I'm in solo track mode and add than some more tracks, they are muted - confusing. Folding and unfolding isn't synchronized between selected objects. When I press play and go back (Shift+F) playback isn't stopped! It might be useful sometimes, but there's no option to turn it off when it disturbes. No colour-coding for keys. "Keep visual angle" is buggy and isn't on by default (when disabling it is a rare need), curves control isn't very friendly overall. And so on and so on.. It's all trifles, but they make my work much worse. And I have much more to say, but I'm in doubt is anybody listening.

You're right, I understand how complex such projects are and how slow new ideas drift into a way to implementation. However, many of my thoughts were much simpler than those things you may imagine, I consciously don't propose any vastly new features, many of proposals are more like a bugfixes to UI logic which could be fixed with a few lines of code literally. However, I've got absolutely no answer, despite many of those problems are very annoying and really worth developers' attention.

Despite there is such page, I'm feeling like nobody is reading and nobody is interested in any thoughts from users anymore. I wrote a hefty list of things to consider improving a half of a year back and sent it through: mail, your HR mail, this forum, MAXON FB page, a MAXON employee which has been recently on CGEvent to gather some fresh thoughts and opinions from local community. What feedback got I? None of it. At all. It resembles me a story when I tried to push my UX report on Photoshop and it's future through Adobe bureaucracy almost 10 years back, trying to reach the very John Knoll and using my acquaintance with Jaison Levine, and the best answer I had was smth like "we are not interested". So PS hasn't evolved a bit in the direction it should since than. I don't want MAXON to become the same junk company. Please, no!
-
And yes you're right, I initially was a hard 3ds max user but 3 years have switched to Cinema and never went back (except for modelling) But currently i'm in the state when I'm not searching for any parallels or similarities between the programs, I use it freely and have no problems with that (again, except modelling :D)

What a nice idea! I will try join them, thanks!
-
Oh - my applauses for new shader node editor! It's a brilliantly made interface, it's so excellently designed! My respect
-
Yes, I understand. As well as I understand that I am NOT a UX-designer, despite I feel I could put together complex things and concepts inside a logical interface. Anyway helping your team and suggesting some things me and many others need everyday and influencing the development could be an awesome opportunity) I have no access to real tasks you face so can't check myself. But how can I make something you'll really use in your work? Would be glad if you guide. Of course, I'd rather be much better CG guy, but it's unlikely...(

Hi! Not sure it's a nice idea to write a letter as a job candidate being who I am, but "UX designer" and "3d generalist" got me caught! I like what MAXON do so much that I'll be glad to help them even as a freelancer or not being paid. For example, I have wrote a big list of proposals to improve C4D experience, basically, it may be considered as a lite UX-report. Do you think it's adequate to write them about that?
-
I keep adding items in the list. Not sure now will anybody in MAXON read it, but I hope so. Happily, Cinema is not the program that needs all-new approach and logic (except modeling module) but there's still a lot of places for improvements GENERAL While "align center" window is active dont't apply the changes to pivot untill the "execute" button is pressed as it's too easy to mess with pivot simply selecting object; "Center axis to" and other commands must not retain the behaviour defined by "Center axis" dialog; Fast "key selected attr" as Q in timeline - when autokey sets the keys for all the parameters it's a bit inconvinient; Fix "render instances", make them like real instances. For now they disappear as soon as we work with them as real objects, putting in symmetry or any other generator. It must work like if you work with a bunch of Instance objects, not like now; Less nulls - there's no real reason why we must group geometry in null to put it in SDS or symmetry. But we have to still, seems to have no point; Cloner negative offset! It's really needed feature to have a way to shift cloner in opposite way than it's possible now; Consider null the object of size of it's content. It's really needed for "fit to parent", axis manipulation and similar things; Add a way to dock attribute manager under the dope sheet object list to see key parameters immidiately; Add a "Show in Solo mode" in Interaction tag; Don't gray out snap options when it's turned off, it is rather inconvinient than logical; One click solo activation with last used settings. Hierachy turned on by default. Messing with flyout menu every time is time-consuming and not pleasant; Disable all calculation of objects outside of Solo or hidden by "traffic light", Solo must speed up the scnene, now it does not really; Committe Knife, Weld and so on by Enter or Right click or Enter; When "effector" in "filter" menu is off it still shows in instances and cloners - must be fixed; Individual "filter" menu settings for each vieport (or possible ovveride system), adding a "file" grabber for filter menu to make it floating window; Make backlite respect the compositing tag "exclude" feature. Now it doesn't; A few operands for Boolean and Spline Mask; Fix UV scale. It's damn weired! (DONE) Simultaneaous rendering and files saving - sometimes save process takes a long time and render is paused while that; Make an easy way to control non-PSR parameters with deformers and effectors. We really lack it; Don't colour clones by default; Add "transparent" option in Display tag; TIMELINE By clicking on the object in timeline ONLY select it's own keys, selecting it's and children's keys is possible via middle click already. For now it's such a pain to work with that if you need to tweak anly parent animation. AT LEAST as an option. ; Colour-code Summary track and add a margin to separate it from the rest of timeline, it must ease getting around with what's happening in the scene; Colour-code animation parameters in timeline according to curves colour; Always show Velocity curve representation by default; Add AE-like "speed graph" mode (velocity curve editing); Add an option "don't keep playing after scrabbing"; Make velocity reference curve fit background with no respect to scales on the side so we can see simply the relative speed values not changing the view; AE-like system to control trajectory and velocity separately. Introduce editable velocity curves in timeline; An option to stop playback on scrubbing; "Solo track on object" - turn off all the rest of animation but ONLY for this object. The rest of them remain animated; FIX THIS (copypasting keyframes) https://www.c4dcafe.com/ipb/forums/topic/94518-copy-paste-keyframes/ Autokey only active (selected, or keyed alredy) dimentions option; "Keep visual angle" for tangents by default; Possibility to animate in world-space even inside parent object; Hide "tracks" folder; Syncronize animations channels folding and unfolding for selested objects; Shortcuts for toggling parameters like in AE (PSR, for instance); Store the state of selections in timeline for each object respectevely and restore it when the object is reselected again; Add new animated parameters to "solo" mode when it was enabled already before creating new animation (another way that's confusing how it works, make user think something is broken); Remember graph scale for each selected parameter indivigually not to frame it evety time we switch; Timeline selection presets as "selection" objects in OM; MODELIND: Delete polygons with corresponding points by default; (DONE) While "Split" duplicate object without children. Delete points of splited geometry; "Toggle parent generator" must turn off all generators or SDS. Now it works unpredictable. I think there must be some switch or tag to make particular generators stay on even when "toggle" feature is off. Also, wherever is the geomtry in cloner, connect or any other generator, the visibility and editablity of mesh must be preserved. Now it's not working that way. Also fix the same problem with Bevel defromer; "Bend" is awful. It needs to be much more intuitive and flexible, take as a reference 3ds max's one, it's much, much friendlier. Also there needs to be a fast way to bend object symmetrically in two ways (butterfly-like way); NEW: DEDICATED MODELING TOOLBAR! Including: fast axis switch (available in all modes with two "recent settings" buttuns to store setting for fast access without using dropdown menu); Merge Regtangle (and other variation) selection with Move/Scale/Rotate and others; "Pivot to base" or "base to pivot" for primitives; Spline pivot to Bbox centre;

I have started this thread after seeing @Glenster's message in r20 release discussion. He says if anybody has own thoughts on improving modelling toolkit he'd like to hear it. So I hope this is the way to share opinion too. Speaking of modelling I have lot to say too if anybody's interested @Greatszalam I saw those discussion forums. There's a lot of old but still hot threads about self-evident improvements and fixes people are waiting for YEARS and no reaction from Adobe. I started hating them for their neglect in relation to own users. The level of evolution of their products is just awful. They are degrading even. So nope, I can't agree with you in this relation
