I checked the sceene in R25 and it seems to be an other problem with it too. unfortunately I right now dont have the time. render out 0-179 and delete frames 0 to 89. that should work.
-
I dont know if his is your problem, but I sometimes forget to get rid of the last frame. If the keyframes are on 90f and 180f you have to render out 90f to 179f. 90 to 180 are 91 frames anyway. I guess you would like to render out 90 frames?

It is hard to give advice without seeing the scene. But maybe some hints could help. convert big parametic constructions to polys can reduce preparation time, check you texture Images how big they really need to be (maybe you can reduce their size to stay in the Ram limit). area shadows and matte reflections are very expensive (also chek the sampling settings in your lights). Check your AO settings. Ray, shadow and reflection depth can maybe be reduced. Ray threshhold might be boosted. depending on the scene (when you need anything blurry) you might want to use the physical render. Set sample quality to automatic and start with a 5% threshold, lower it as needed. this are the first things to look up, best luck Jops

somehow it is painful to watch this. together with chatgpt one person can generate the marketing material for a whole company. And it is a switch to big business again. Adobe will make the money, that hundred thousands of designers made. they will have to find new ways to feed their families. And on top of it we will get flooded with even more BS marketing material 😱

I am right now just working with client software. I have no influence in what type of plugins they buy 🙂 But I will purchase it the minute I need it for my own projects 🙂 Best luck and all the best -
Flow Graph Plugin - A Flow Graph based animation plugin for Cinema 4D

Sad, that the only feedback is negative 😞 so I have to step in 🙂 I really think this is a smart Idea and it looks like it can save quite a bit more time (and therefor money) than it costs. It looks slick, and I like the fact, that it is compatible till R20. good look with this. I hope a lot people will buy it 🙂 -
as R25 is the last perpetual release it would be great if the R25 version was made available. A updated version wouldn't help much for everyone staying on R25
-
I also would love to download them, but the links are broken also for me 😞

Like this they will not bite a big chunk out of adobes cacke 😞 the newcomer always needs to be cheaper or at least the same price. like this they cost like the whole creative cloud. This will not fly, unfortunatley. -
As far as I know both. (take it with a grain of salt) there is a prerendered panoramic image or Movie for reflections and lighting, and the part of the background that is seen by the camera is rendered interactively in realtime, to get the right paralax and reflections.

amazing. I really would like to experience this in person 🙂

you could use the filter with gradiation curves on the blured texture to controll the form of the wave. (like in my file for example)
-
I don't have time to look further into it, but maybe this could be a starting point? waves.c4d
-
That is quite complicated and I dont know a sinple Mograph solution to it, but I think that I saw rocket lasso making a nodes/capules setup for it.

Maybe it's time to open the forum again and bring back the ads?

Most People underestimate the amount of work and money that goes into something like this. The not to be named big former Sponsor of this site not just deserted the c4d comunity but they also put all the pressure on Igors sholders. Yes this is a diamond, a diamond that should be of a huge value to maxon (that easily could jump in for the deserted former sponsor), but is doesn't seem to be. Now all over sudden Igor not just has to keep the forum running, now he has to pay for it and on top he also is responsible for its legacy. We got used to all the free sites, but we forget, that when you do not pay - then you are not the customer, but the product. Facebook, youtube and so on sell our data fo finance the "free" service. This is not working for a forum like this. It needs money. hard earned money. Like the 10 buggs a year that so many people are complaining about. And for a single Person it is even much more money. But that seems to be ok, as long it is not the own money. And Igor of couse has so much fun updating software, debugging bugs and taking care about the generall tone in the forum, that you can expect him to pay all on his own. NO - A forum like this can be gone in a blink of an eye. Very easily just by a stoped payment, a crash without backup or illness of one single person. And the diamond is gone with its legacy. Human motivation and recources are finite, as we all know. So for me personally a stable foundation is the most important thing. All the rest is nice to have. Igor said, that the forum is growing even with the paywall... so everything is fine, the forum is saved and enough people seem to understand the necesarity to invest a minimum amouont of money. And hopefully Igor is willing to keep on the good work for a long time. Every one of us can dig deep into his mind and maybe can find a new Sponsor for this site. We all are responsible for this situation, this is a community, not a big company business. -
I found a workaround. create a daylight. delete the sun expression and set both sky color and sun color to your desired color. activate mix sky texture and use an other sky or a sphere to set the color of the surrounding.
-
Hi there, I am trying to set up a infintite light in octane and change its color. the only infinite light I find is the daylight, But It looks like i can't change the color of it. any ideas, thanks a lot! Jops

Hey CAIRYN, really sad that you go, but I find the firm step into an other area also bold. kudos for that. I can understand you and I also started to detach from c4d quite a bit not just emotionally. It is really a bummer, that there is no more room for you in the new c4d universe. But you are not alone. As You I and many others are looking into new directions like blender or unreal. And that can bring completely new joys. have a good ride, Jops

for You It would be easy to refute that rumors. For example, you could simply say: "until 2020 we have financially supported this forum. Since then, that support has decreased or increased by x percent." you could also say: "Maxon did not force this forum to change its name". as long as no such simple statements are made, you just have to live with the fact that people make their own thoughts. best regards, Jops -
Thanks for this insightful comment.

DreamFusion: Text-to-3D using 2D Diffusion (Hate to say it but... I told you so)
Jops replied to HappyPolygon's topic in News
Absolutely right, and I am quite aware of the problems, but either some one will make it, or AI will just jump over it and then no one needs rigging and UV mapping anyway. for example to put moving people into a street. some one will do it. -

when you see the steep developement in 2D, then this is just the start and we will see much better results in the near future. I would not be surprised if we get a shop that generates the assets for you. that of course in the future will cost quite some modelers the job, but thats how it always was. The end of letter setting comes to mind. If we really have to go into this direction I don't understand why comanies like autodesk or maxon do not integrate AI algorythms into their software. for example to wheight characters or make great UV maps. It looks like these algorythms always start with the final image but they also could just be great tools for unpleasant parts of the 3d work. for me it looks like photographers will be the first to have a hard time in the near future. Not because there will be no jobs for them anymore, but because there will be much less jobs. Speakers also will get problems quite fast. for 3d, for animation we might have some years left, because making a animation needs a deep understanding of the background workings, But modeling will deffinately be challanged in the near future.
