  1. Have you seen HRVOJE's post? He replicated it using SceneNodes. ----------------------------------- The most interesting question for me: I wonder how many other C4D users could do what Hrvoje did with Scene nodes.
  2. They're coming in thick and fast 😀 - another one : HDR Light Studio - 30% off https://www.lightmap.co.uk/blog/blackfridaysale2022/
  3. Pixellab - 30% off https://www.thepixellab.net/products
  4. Directory Opus Not specifically CG related - but my favourite Windows Explorer replacement... Until November 30th, everything Directory Opus related is 40% off! Coupon code: BF2022NOV
  5. Thanks Jeff. Interesting comments. Pros and cons for each as always.
  6. Give 'em chance... it only came out in 2015! 🙄
  7. When most freelancers can pick up Houdini Indie for less than £170 (GBP) per year, Insydium increasingly looks to me like a company trying to loose customers.
  8. Jeff - I've never tried Maya. How do you rate it for hard surface modelling compared to C4D / Blender / Houdini - or anything else.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong - but I think it was version 20 that is the last version not to require online activation.
  10. 👍 Here's thumbs up for Houdini's terrain tools. I really like them. In fact they were the thing that got me interested and started in Houdini.
  11. Affinity Photo: Sadly still not given the ability to copy/paste or manipulate alpha channels directly. Uninstalled trial. Back to Photoshop for me. Incredibly frustrating. This is such a good application in so many respects, but is missing a few critical features.
  12. I look forward to seeing what you guys can do with the new Pyro toolkit.
  13. Just curious why freeze transformations won't work for your situation?
  14. Just interested to gather impressions of 2023.1 - especially the pyro stuff. I've got to say that the demos on the Maxon site / presentation didn't really light my fire. They all looked more than a little cartoony to me. I'm getting spoiled by Houdini I guess. Nevertheless it's good to see C4D making progress in this area.
  15. v2 definitely looks worth checking out... I'd be very interested to hear thoughts from others doing the same!
  16. Let's hope that 'one big thing you've been waiting for' is the ability to easily and directly modify alpha channels just like any other channel... a request that has been around for years on the Affinity Photo forum - with absolutely no response from them. A.Photo is a good application in many respects - but is tripped up by weakness in a few key areas. I have a copy, but Photoshop still reigns supreme for the stuff I do. I'll be interested to see what the Affinity crew deliver. PS: I agree about the Ps / Adobe splash screens : )
  17. My guess for Wednesday announcements - apart from the pyro stuff - an early beta of Redshift for AMD cards.
  18. 'Life is an infinite loop'... I wonder how long it will be before this sort of thing becomes the successor to the 'linear field animating through a sea of cubes' that we've all seen 1.000 times before...
  19. Hi Eric - and welcome here : ). It may well be that our paths have crossed previously (Postforum?) as I've been a C4D user for a similar length of time 🙂 I think your two shorts above are exceptionally good - both the visuals and sound design.
  20. I was thinking along the same lines. I never used it myself, but I certainly remember it's reputation.
  21. Good luck. I hope you find a buyer, but I suspect most of the 'perpetual generation' have left the building... There's a constant draught from the exit doors...
  22. When I saw the headline I thought the same: good to see scene nodes getting some use... er... No. Nevertheless, kudos to the author - it looks an impressive bit of work.
  23. I've just realised why people look at me strangely when I ask for a PNG or GIF....
  24. I was hoping someone would post that Houdini tutorial - thanks MJV : ) WAY... WAY... WAY overkill for your needs by the sound of it - but its AMAZING nevertheless : )
