  1. Keep them coming! A few of these I hadn't found : )
  2. If Gazzamatazz doesn't mind, can I widen the scope of this thread and ask for general thoughts on whether 2024 has delivered a significant speedup for most of you / most projects?
  3. Like this one, do you mean? https://shorturl.at/kxEK8
  4. Watching it now - and I can certainly understand why they've been working on some of these features for 2 or 3 years...
  5. Polyhinge will be a handy tool... H20_polyhinge.mp4
  6. Houdini 20 is finally released. There is a full day of live webinars tomorrow to cover the major topics. https://www.sidefx.com/products/whats-new-in-h20/
  7. Just for reference on the Premiere Pro front: you can hack the backward compatibility with a bit of file text editing. But here is a quick and easy option: https://joshcluderay.com/downgrade-premiere-project-converter/
  8. Because of the point Mash made above. It doesn't make any sense that you can see two narrow area light reflections on the floor reflection based on a very diffuse reflection from the sphere.
  9. Either: 1. They didn't understand the situation / question. or 2. They are clueless.
  10. Time flies when you're enjoying yourself : )
  11. I barely touch character animation, but seeing the IK / FK / Constraints and dynamic motion systems makes me wish I did! : )
  12. Seriously mind blowing IMHO. Most of those people must come from a superior planet : ) ...and a minor correction: this isn't an 'all features' presentation - just the major stuff. There a pile of stuff they didn't have the time to show - in a two hour keynote...
  13. It's a bit of a moveable feast - but generally around once a year, although 19 to 19.5 was nine months I think? H20 was also targeted for 12 months after 19.5, but as a 'big number' they wanted to make it a big release - hence the later than planned November release this time. It's probably the biggest single release they've made I think. As you can see from the list above - it's a monster! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: Apologies, I didn't refresh the page and see Eikon's response before I posted! No duplication intended.
  14. After a 28 day hiatus I'm wondering how many are still in the building...
  15. Some good stuff coming our way...
  16. 2042... they finally admit scene nodes isn't really going anywhere.
  17. I'm ripping open a packet of popcorn for this one : )
  18. I wonder if this could be set up in vellum so the shape match just 'packed' one sphere - to represent one sphere ?
  19. Just catching up on this news... So 'Redshift is now the default renderer in C4D'... does that mean Maxon are now including the full GPU version with the C4D subscription?
  20. Making slow progress... excuse the janky 'voronoi roads'. This is quite a fun - and tricky - challenge. I was hoping to get this to be fully continuous and connected ngon geometry, but that's difficult with my current approach. I've full commitments over the next few weeks, so I'll have to leave this unsolved for the moment. I've got ideas to improve it, so hopefully I might be able to pick it up and refine it. Good luck with your project Jacobite : )
  21. Thanks. It's quite a tricky problem to 'solve well'. I'll continue to give it some thought.
  22. The task in this thread relates to some some work I do myself, so I had a couple of hours free this morning and I thought I'd see if I could come up with a basic multi-level patchwork generator in Houdini. It could certainly have a more efficient network and could certainly have lots of refinements, but for a first prototype I thought it was a promising result! There's easy interactive control of the proportions of large, medium and small areas, their relative sizes and random seeds.
  23. Agreed. For years people have been clamouring for a C4D indie version. I wonder if you're actually getting it by the backdoor. Over time 'solo C4D' is left to become the poor cousin - the 'indie' version if you like - and 'C4D One' becomes the rich prince. I wouldn't be surprised.
