  1. You do know about the C4D 'Time Track'?
  2. I tried it in a very early beta, but I must try it again now its near commercial release. I use MOI 3D quite a bit, so it's definitely of interest.
  3. As an R21 user I started learning Houdini about 10 months ago. I like it and I like the company. Is it the 'perfect' software? Heck, no, far from it, but they treat their customers with respect.
  4. Is there a recording / timestamp available to view this 'announcement'. I'd be interested to view it. Thanks.
  5. 😮 ....Amazing. I think I'll stick with four wheels tho' : )
  6. ...this was the part that made my ears perk up : ) Photos or you didn't 😂
  7. A VEX animated colour cycle extrusion loop. Having pondered a recent question about extruding based on colour, I got sucked down a VEX rabbit hole... This is hue based and has some control over the separation of the hue range too. View it looped : ) colourCycleExtrude_render_03_02A_4MB.mp4
  8. I'm just curious to know if there was ever a resolution to this problem?
  9. It is. The point I was making is that it's available in Houdini now - along with lots of similar 'high level' nodes. As 'Happy Polygon' says: C4D just needs more nodes - lots more, High level nodes. No artist is going to build an 'intersection node' from low level components like that. I'd really love to know what's going on with C4D / Maxon and Scene Nodes. They were the next big thing - now they seem to be 'the child no one at Maxon dare speak of'. Seen any Maxon training / promo stuff relating to Scene Nodes recently? Me neither. You seem to be the only Scene Node evangelist. Will there be a revival?
  10. It's unusual to say... but just go with Houdini, it's easier 😂
  11. This sort of tech has come up a few times on the forum and it's really impressive for the right use case. I think Stefano showed some examples from Vray. I'd love to see it in Redshift.
  12. Discord doesn't do it for me either. A forum like this is a useful repository of info that is generally easy to search. Good luck with that on Discord.
  13. I'm getting the white, semi transparent, rectangle in Chrome too - which on Edge shows an ad : )
  14. It will be interesting to see where this goes. Left Angle have perhaps done Adobe's development work for them. It wouldn't surprise me to see Adobe buy them out in due course - and hey presto, "After Effects v2". Autograph certainly seems to be designed to fulfil lots of common AE feature requests.
  15. https://www.left-angle.com/#page=183 Not really freelancer pricing unfortunately - unless you're a specialist.
  16. Ah - they do! Well spotted Stefano. But it's interesting to note what they are showing there - just a playback in the picture viewer. That demonstrates... absolutely nothing as far a performance is concerned.
  17. Maybe Dave said "No subscription = no play" LOL! On a different matter: You've got to look very carefully - it's only a few frames, but the Houdini explosion guy seems to be using Axiom solver.
  18. Yes, as another Houdini user it's good to see this. I've yet to get into Houdini's ocean tools - they are on my list : ), but I have done a fair amount of work with ocean and sea surfaces in C4D in the past. Your ocean surface looks really good IMO : ) The tricky thing with these open views is getting a nice distance fade off to the horizon.
  19. I have mixed feelings... Mainly because I've made a half decent living teaching AE for the last twenty years : ) But seriously, I really hope Autograph can deliver. Old code can only last so long.
  20. LOL! - I did know about the ripple SOP TBH - but I think mine's better : ) You should know how these things happen by now... You're learning VEX... you create a sine wave.... umm... could I manipulate that with a couple of ramps... bet that would look cool in a revolve... what about a bit of mountain SOP... ...and before you know it: "Mike's ripple SOP" 🤣
  21. Had a bit of time to spare this pm, and as I had a set up pretty much ready to go, couldn't resist a shot...
  22. There's nothing wrong with a bit of old school retouching - I'm old school myself : ) Whatever gets the job done!
