  1. Ha,I'll leave the fatty's up to you :p
  2. Thanks a lot! I think I got it right now, or as right as possible at the moment ^^. I don't want to change the mesh to mush since I probably mess up the bake and the textures but the mouth looks a lot better. What a few brush strokes can do to make something look much better. Thank you! He loves you too ha ha. He thanks a lot! Don't think I mentioned it but it began with my first human head sculpt last year which I was very proud of back then but feeling ashamed of it right now when looking back at it, I even took the article of my website haha. Look here It's the same head as back then but I completely remodelled and sculpted it. Anyway it's basically practice and work for my portfolio in the hope that some company here might give me a job someday. It will not be a full character but only his upper body/torso.
  3. @Rectro Better like this ?
  4. Hi Dan, thanks for the advice! Just to make clear what you're saying, if I take your avatar as an example, do you mean the little indentations or gaps at the corners of the mouth, sort of a small overlapping? EDIT: I see that exactly what you wrote, still early and just woke up haha Thank you Anthony! A working man of that time was my first thought when I build this character but I think it will just be a modern times guy with kind off a farmers outfit :D
  5. What about switching before doing the sim? It works fine for me last time Ichecked.
  6. It's taking ages to finish this one but I'm loving it so far! Dropped the idea of a WW2 veteran in ceremonial outfit since I want to finish it and move on to some architectural project or so. Changes since last post: Made the upper lip less sharp Added a new cornea to the eye Added hair Added a cap Tons of texture tweaks
  7. Looking good so far, but indeed, the edges can use some slight beveling :)
  8. Valar Morghulis. I love Game of Thrones, can't wait for the next episode. Anyway, Nice modelling, looking forward to the result.
  9. Ha thank you. I guess the guys from Bioware would probably sue Disney if they'd pull that stunt haha
  10. Ah, All those nice fatty curves, love it...I uh mean in 3D ofcourse. Lol
  11. Yeah you're totally right! Working on it :D
  12. Thank you! So you don't like people with a thin upperlip :P ?
  13. Not a lot of progress besides the glasses I did this morning and some minor texture and lighting tweakings :)
  14. Thanks again Anthony! The normal map and ambient occlusion was baked inside Substance Painter and so was the thickness map before I adjusted it in Photoshop. Beside those I hand painted the sub dermis, roughness, and the fuzz map for the tiny fuzzy hairs on the face. I used real photo's of my fathers head combined with hand painting it to achieve the skin texture.
  15. Had some fun fine tuning the eye texture and some quick tests with fibermesh export and lighting. Don't know if the final pose of the eyes will be pointed towords the camera but thought it looked nice for now. Also the hair will look different in the final render since it'll be under a overseas cap. Oh and I've also gone from the 1800's look to a WWII veteran in his ceremonial outfit which I'm creating at the moment. Stay tuned :D

    Bernie

Great stuff indeed! Would love to see this movie
  18. The only thing that bothers me is the shadow behind the plant, looks a bit odd.
  19. Thank you! Ha, there will definitely be some tuffts of hair coming from underneath his cap and ofcourse the eyebrows and eyelashes. Thanks for the tips, although I have already made some nice changes since this picture, I will for sure check out some eyes of old people to see what the difference is! EDIT: Got it, made them more bloodshot and murky, also dialed down the normal map for the iris which made the eye look sharp. Thanks again for noticing.
  20. Awhh yeah, getting there!
  21. Pfew, think I must have created 5 sets of eyes and altered the mesh a couple of times but I think I've got them good enough for the final look. So hard to get a convincing set of eyes but for the second time doing this I think I can be a little bit proud. I think I've also need to alter the different regions of specularity on the face, especially the lips doesn't look ok at the moment.
  22. Thanks everyone! SSS is already applied. It can be seen slightly around the ear and nose. But it's not really noticible with this lightin setup.
  23. Thought I'd create a new topic for this project for once. I did this sculpt last year as my first Zbrush head sculpture but was never satisfied with the final render. So after moving to a new village and inbetween painting walls and renovating the house I decided to pick up that project to get a more realistic result.. though probably not as realistic as Rectro's females ;) The head I made didn't have good proportions so I hope I did a better job with this one, not really using a lot of reference pics... yeah I know, I should :) Anyway, I'm planning to give him a cap and outfit like in the Peaky Blinders show I think. So far made with Cinema 4D, Zbrush, Substance Painter and this render with Marmoset Toolbag. Texture is half hand painted and half my fathers face :P
  24. Really great work Rectro. I'm especially admiring the eyes because I'm struggling at the moment on creating eyes for an old sculpture I'm bringing back to life. Did you create seperate objects for the cornea, sclera, iris and such?
