  1. Hi all! Worked on this one during the last month ( not fulltime) and pretty satisfied with the result. It's my first real attempt at a realistic character and learned quite a lot. He still has to be placed in a scene, which will probably be a library or something, but that has to wait for now. Cinema 4D work and Zbrush is like 50/50. You can check out the article on my website for a detailed explaination of the creative process. http://privatepolygon.nl/index.php/10-photos/38-maester-of-the-citadel
  2. Thanks, that means a lot to me! Oh I really wish I could, but it's so difficult to get a job here and with 0 connection in the design world it seems almost impossible. But I'm not giving up!...yet :D
  3. I know same here, especially if it's not going as I would like it to go, probably a bad habbit but the files won't go anywhere. I've got whole bunch of em somewhere on my HD, all those potential master pieces haha:D
  4. Thank, glad you like it! It was my first attempt at such a creature or something organic so i'm pretty satisfied withe the result :) Thanks, very nice to hear. I love to get a lot of detail in architectural pieces, it's easy to get lost in it!
  5. From the album: Finals 2016

Ever since starting with 3D I always wanted to create a realistic human so I started on the creation of a Game of Thrones related project. I chose for an older person since the theme is "Maester of the Citadel" and the more experienced Measters should be older in my opinion. The creation of the head was mainly done in Zbrush but base mesh, materials, hair and rendering was done in Cinema 4D. So what's next regarding the rest of the project? Since I wanted to focus on anatomy I'll stick to Zbrush for detailing and Cinema 4D for creating the base meshes and start on working on the arms and hands. After that I will set the head and arms in a pose and take the meshes into Marvelous Designer/Zbrush to create the Maester's robe from the series. The character will end up in a simple scene that will be created inside Cinema 4D. 6. Hi all! Thought i'd share this piece I've been working on for the last week and a half. Again my previous project has come to a hold since my attention drifted towards other things such as sculpting and human anatomy. I tried to create a realistic portrait. Although it was mainly sculpted in Zbrush I still went to Cinema 4D for the materials, hairs and rendering so I hope some of you C4D lovers can still appreciate me posting this here ;P I'm going to create a set of hand and a robe for a scene. This will be a Measter of the Citadel from the series Game of Thrones. Thinking about it, I can use the ruins from my previous post as a background for this project :D
  7. Ha, thanks mate! Have to keep going, I underestimated the whole process of hand sculpting every single stone lol. Anyway, nearly done, did a test with color as well.
  8. Thanks Igor! It is for my portfolio yes. Wish I could do this for a living but still no luck on finding a job in it.
  9. At the moment working on this broken arch and as you can see it's not done yet. The lower part is sculpted already but still a lot to be done. This will be a nice cover for staging an ambush perhaps, don't know exactly what the final scene is going to look like yet, just figuring it out as I go :D
  10. Celebrating my 100th post, party hard :P

  11. Hi folks! I finally got an idea for a scene where I can put my elephant in. It's going to be a desert scene with in the foreground aman in desert garb with weapons hiding behind stone of ruins or a dead tree log and in the background this baby is walking with a drivers seat on top of it. At the moment i'm reading Dune by Frank Herbert and it's inspiring me to create a scene like this. There's going to be lots of sand blowing around and ruins. The cloting is going to be a first timer for me so let's see how that's going to turn out.
  12. Thanks man! I've got a better one on my site: http://privatepolygon.nl/index.php/10-photos/37-escape-to-the-country It's only 1920x1600 though so not that big.
  13. Finally finished, took me longer than expected. On to the next, hoping to create a character this time! planning to create some animations too with the elephant I made.
  14. From the album: Finals 2016

Inspired by a house I found on the internet which later when someone told me turned out to be the so called "Jacobs house" in Wisconsin America. When I started this project it was clear to me that I wanted to give a warm cozy summer afternoon feeling to it. This was a heavy scene to handle in the end due to all the trees and plants in and around the property. The grass was made with a combination of C4D Archigrass and geometry. The main reason for this was to reduce the calculation time for the Archigrass and at the same time maintain a smooth handling in the viewport. The painting of the budda which you can find in the house was provided by my lovely mother!

  15. Working on this exterior scene at the moment. Coming along ok I guess. Had some struggles with the textures in the beginning. Still a lot of things to be done like interior, plants around the garden, weeds and dirt on some textures around the scene.
  16. From the album: Finals 2016

After seeing more and more disturbing images of elephants being slaughtered for their ivory tusk on television and other media, I wanted to create an elephant myself because they're the most beautiful animals roaming the planet. Being the first time creating an animal in Cinema 4D, it was quite a challenge for me discovering the workflow to tackle this project. I started creating the base mesh in Cinema 4D and decided to sculpt the detail in Zbrush. The elephant will be put in a fitting environment with some action in it too to show that they need to be left alone!

  17. You're totally right man, what's wrong with me !? haha Anyway here's the final, on my website there's a small story about the project en a couple of renders too. Once it's in a scene I'll spent more time on lighting but I hope you like it already :)
  18. Thanks for the feedback guys, I've softenend those wrinkles a bit but not much. Often those parts are a bit more pronounced because of all the folds that overlap each other and stretch all the time, I've studied too much elephants over the last month and not one is the same haha. Next project will probably be a medieval character but that'll have to wait for a bit, can't have too much fun right !? :P
  19. Thanks Igor! Well here it is! I'm done sculpting the details and painting all the layers of dust and mud. The pose you see here is not the final but it should be pretty similair. Added some body hair and eyelashes in C4D and rendered it out. The scene will be made in C4D too. Will paint the reflection (and perhaps SSS) maps tomorrow. For the first time trying an animal i think it looks quite good and am really satisfied so far!
  20. Small update. been working pretty had onall those wrinkles but it's coming along pretty nice it think. Transfered back to C4D just to see how it looks. Also got a great idea for a scene.
  21. Hi all! So I haven't posted anything in a long while regarding my project "The Pub" which I was working on a few posts back. I didn't get the result i was working towards so I've put it on hold for the moment. On the other side I've been working on something really cool as well which is a first for me since I mainly focussed on interiors/exteriors and my modeling skills are pretty rusty and not that good. I began last month with modeling an elephant. How the hell can anyone shoot such a beautiful animal!? Really makes me sick. Anyway i finished the base mesh and started sculpting the details in Zbrush since I want it to be a pretty realistic model. I'm also going to create a scene for it in C4D later on when I'm finished in Zbrush but I thought I'd already share some images of the process.
  22. Really nice, looking forward to the reel! But I mentioned that before somewhere else ;)
  23. Thanks! I actually had that in mind but i thought it would be to chaotic in the end but tried it out when i read your message. Worked out pretty well and the shattered glass table top looks good as well :D To be continued... 3:)
  24. Hi all, last update before the final. Will probably take a while though. Been lots of fun messing the whole bar up with broken things and such. I'm getting close completing the fireplace which is build up of all kinds of stone. Created the base mesh of those stones in C4D and exporting them to Zbrush. I'm doing my UV's there since i can't get the hang of BPUV in Cinema unfortunately. Next step: texturing and lighting :O
