  1. Why is the right monarch wing look darker than the left one? This makes no sense.
  2. Okay, I didn't see your shot at first but that isn't what is causing this geometry issue.
  3. Why are the wings showing missing geometry? It only happens intermittently. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rgiwd0pnthwkzoz/Wing geometry problem.c4d?dl=0
  4. Thank you for the offer but I followed the advice above and broke it up, reduced it and reconnected them.
  5. This is pretty much what I concluded but those kinds of breaks may show up in my Forester distribution, so I hadn't tried it yet.

  7. That would be extremely helpful! I can select the geometry for you so you know exactly the region. Let me know if there is anything else I should do to prep. I will strip it all the way down to just the terrain that's actually kinda large...
  8. It seems like there should be, I can't imagine why there wouldn't be. I couldn't find anything in my searching.
  9. It's just a terrain with an area where I subdivided for something I am no longer going to do. Most of it I want to remain the same but there is a dip in a hill where I was going to do some detailed work but now I'm not and I need all of those polygons reduced without affecting the rest of the terrain.
  10. I have a region of polygons I need to reduce, without throwing the whole entire mesh into a remesher. Is there a way to do this?
  11. Okay now wait, I mentioned that I already did this and it didn't work. This is why the continued confusion I think.
  12. Does anyone recall very early in my posts that I was looking for some keywords to google because I had watched multiple tutorials but couldn't find an answer to what I needed? I am going to go back and read your recent comments but it's specifically what I did NOT want to happen. Any time I come here to ask questions it's because my attempts to do so on google have failed. I USUALLY find my answers on my own and I asked early on for some better keywords, but hoping for a quick and easy answer should there be one. I am incredibly grateful for your help. Yes, there are still quite a lot of VERY basic things I haven't gotten to yet in my learning, mostly due to the angle I arrived at C4D in the first place and not needing to know some of this. Currently I spend a good 10-15 hours a week learning more C4D and plugins, and when I get stuck I will come here. I greatly appreciate the help given by you guys but at this point It looks like maybe what I'm asking is so unbelievably basic that my question wasn't making a lot of sense to you guys. Off to read your comments...
  13. I reverted to an earlier copy of my scene and let it go. So far, I can't get an answer to my question. What is utterly confusing to me and nobody seems to be able to answer, is HOW and WHERE is this UVW data saved, and why can't it just be removed and replaced? If I take a material completely out of the project, delete all polygon selections and such, then have nothing left but the terrain geometry, why am I unable to bring a new material in and place it on that geometry the way I want it? Is something saved in the geometry itself that is then transferred to each new material it encounters? If so, why am I able to model all I want before adding texture, without anything bizarre affecting that texture when applied? Does it suddenly start saving information that can't be modified, once I add a texture? Nobody is shining any light on this. Why can't this new information just be treated as any other object that just had a few points moved? I'm exactly where I started, with none of these questions answered.
  14. How do I reset the UVW on this where the texture will start reading it properly?
  15. So, I understood this early in the discussion. How do I correct the problem from here?
  16. I REALLY appreciate the help but I'm confused why there isn't a simple answer to this. All I did was select my polygons along an imaginary foot path I want on my curvy terrain. No special projection whatsoever. I just put the selection tag into the material and I was done. How do I get that back? No special geometry or projection, the very basic, default that occurs when I do the above.
  17. I tried different projections and they kept coming out strange. I just need to reset the basic projection somehow. How do I do that?
  18. Yes, a million tutorials but I don't know exactly the terms to use. I viewed several this morning but nothing on this subject could be found. What keywords would you use to avoid watching a ton of stuff you don't need?
  19. I tried this, maybe I didn't do it right. I deleted the tag and added a new one, is this right? It still came out stretched.
  20. I have a foot path on a terrain that I have created with a polygon selection and texture added. I needed to widen the path in some places but when I adjust the points on the polygon selection, the texture ends up stretching. I have tried to delete the texture and replace, as well as a few other approaches, but the material always comes back stretched in those areas I widened. How do I fix this?
  21. I realized I could flip to bottom camera because the pattern is visible on both sides, but what if there were objects on the other side, blocking that view?
  22. I'm trying to copy some patterns on a surface from the top view, using the spline pen. It is placing points at a place where I can't see them to work with them unless I disable the object I am tracing...that I would no longer see to trace. How do I get around this?
  23. Thanks! I'm guessing Team Render wouldn't do anything for me during the preparing stage, am I right? What about using a render farm in the ending stages of a project, in order to have everything turned on in the scene and make final edits, live and quickly? I guess I'm asking if there is a way to get some additional help on the single thread processing side. I'm sorry if these are all stupid questions
  24. Do you mean to hold down two shift buttons simultaneously or twice, hold the 2nd and hit delete?
  25. Another thing, is there a way to stop the calculating after say, accidentally enabling a layer that takes forever to load "Not responding"? Or do you just have to either wait it out or end c4d process in your operating system?
