no worries bro, you've got some decent skills there, just need to make sure you show them off in the best way possible :D
  3. Annoyingly ive spent more time fixing errors and remodelling than making progress, the most difficult part of this project is proving to be finding reliable and well taken reference images, something ive struggled to find, and due to this some areas where not as accurate as i would have liked, so upon finding some better images ive spent alot of time today making changes to parts of the helmet that where off, after that i finally started adding the linkages to the top of the face mask, aswell as modelling some of the finer details, heres the helmet now, with a little nicer lighting

    Criticise Me.

did you model these yourself ? nice models, but no where near hollywood quality, as teknow pointed out the space back drops are average at best, dont forget hollywood visual effects companies have 100's of employees, each working in specialised areas, texturing, lighting, modelling etc
  5. Dont think so man, ive also been trying to create a new album but it keeps telling me that ive got 3 already, when ive already deleted one to give my self an empty slot for the new one so i think something dodgy is going on with the galler atm
  6. dont be discouraged! nothing worth doing in life is ever easy, if we gave up on something everytime it got hard we would never learn anything would we? you put the hard work in now, to get the benfits later, and trust me when you get to the point where things just click, you'll be glad you kept with it, because then there really isn't a limit to what you can do, only your imagination. have a break for a few days, try not to put too much pressure on your self, hopefully after that you'll return with a renewed enthusiam :D

some nice stuff there bro! personally i feel its bit long, minute and half to two minutes i think would have been better, plus im not overly keen on the music but for overall content its nice :D
  8. this evenings progress, finished off the rear collar detailing, well for now anyways, grid was a massive pain but got it done in the end, also cut in the vents on the face mask that where placed there temporarily, which required adding additional geo and loops to the mesh to hold the forms.
  9. Right, so heres my progress/wip so far, stupid amounts of detail on this version of the helmet, all of which il be adding to my model, most of the external detailing is done, some more bits to add to the top of the face mask and around the collar, then on to the inside of the mask, which a wholeother kettle of fish, with all sorts going on in there. its been pretty fun so far, and a nice change from character modelling, although you could argue that this still falls under that catagory, i'll be posting updates as i go, well done to @Cerbera on his version of the helmet, exellent job all round!
  10. Oooooh baby cant wait to post mine later ;)
  11. nice one;) hopefully one of my pieces will make it up there.
  12. thanks man, always trying to push the geo as much as possible, to achieve the level of detail im after whilst at the same time keeping it to a minimum with in the confines of the character styling, not an easy task sometimes when you've got quite a detailed character to design/build, but im managing to pull it off at the moment :) as for the texturing i try to create some simple yet smooth looking materials with a nice wide specular to give it that smooth almost rubbery look.
  13. it stands for seagull special forces unit ;)
  14. update time , mainly been working on the goggles, lighting and materials , probably wont add too much more to this. full size it for 4k render ;)
  15. ;) i think 45-50 would be a reasonable price, thing is, its difficult explaining that to someone with no 3d experience, the responce is usually "oh 25 per hour? well how much can you get done in an hour" im like...how longs a peice of string
  16. damn i charge £25, think i need to revise my prices!
  17. i might but i think that might be over kill, dont want it too realistic ;)
  18. did a little this evening, mainly built the bullet proof vest :D
  19. thanks bro, trying to kick things up a gear :D
  20. cheers bro, felt like his feet needed some gear too :D
  21. update plus lighting and material test, make sure to view fullsize ;)
