  1. Update time few more hours work :D
  2. haha thanks man, body should be fun basically gonna be a massive ball with little legs :D
  3. Got a couple of days free between commercial works, so i thought i'd take the opportunity to make a fun little character, Rory the Robin, he's fat and slightly stupid, and he's eaten one too many worms, updates to come :D comments welcome , V click full size for high quality :DD
  4. hey man modelling is improving from car to car, that's for sure, but for some constructive criticism, there's quite a few triangles in there, which shouldn't be there, also areas like the wheel arches need more attention, as it's not a constant smooth arc. also from the back your points/polys are all over the place on the boot and rear windows, which won't give you a smooth looking surface, which you can see from your renders. i'm also guessing you've used boole's for the holes on the disk brakes, as they look a mess, personally if you're going to the trouble of modelling a car like that with all the details, i'd model the brakes properly, makes for far more impressive wires, and is good for overall techniques and modelling ethos, over all a vast improvement, but still a lot of room for improvement.
  5. update time, started making the clothing, and testing some materials. will add creases etc last as final details
  6. Thanks mate ill have a play around with that when i get home:D
  7. few more changes, trying out a tiny mustache, also added the teeth/gums and tongue
  8. :D im trying to push his hair up a level, ive got the sculpting tools out but its not going to plan :/
  9. @SIgor can see it a bit better from the front
  10. his bottom fat pouch kinda reminds me of bib fortuna from starwars
  11. could be improved for sure, although im not sure it even needs any skin details
  12. yep its got sss in the luminance channel, probably the angle not showing it too well, its got a strong back light so from front on it shows much better
  13. testing some new skin shaders im working on, click full screen for high quality shots.
  14. thanks man, will do, and ooooh lordy, gold star :D... i might have to actually ;)
  15. Taking a break from modelling the Darth Vader helmet, to do some character work, a fat office worker/boss, body proportions, especially his suit should be fun to make, if not a challenge at least :D

yea it looks smooth, c4d is pretty forgiving in that respect, and seeing as most of those issues are on a flat surface, it wont give you too much hassle, but if you had that same topo on something curved like a sphere, you'd be in for all sorts of problems, but atleast you'll know this for next time ;) keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing your progress :D

predictive text can go die There's a few ok areas regarding the topology, but looking at the back of that bullet cylinder, i have to avert my eyes, also, there's way more loops on the grip than needed to hold that form, some triangles and a massive pole, as well as the unevenness of the poly sizes, mainly due to you having so many loops for the finger arches, its not a bad attempt but there's definitely plenty of room for improvement , I'd start off with what my homie CBR suggested, and see how you go from there :D

EDITED Ah the coveted gold star, so few have been documented that people believe it to be a myth, awarded to only the finest modellers in the galaxy.

    2nd car model

could you do some isopalm wires, hard to see whats going on when its so dense
  23. well my kit will eventaully have different hands/feet legs/ hair caps, heads, bodies shoes etc so quite a large task heres a small portion of what ive got so far
  24. hey man nice to see that your still going at this, unfortunately character modelling really can be a massive pain in the backside to get right, you seem to be making progress though thats for sure, but i really would stick to making them from scratch, it really is in my opinion the fastest and best way to learn, building a character from scratch to completion over and over etc also as cerbera pointed out some of the proportions namley the hads are a little large in comparison to the rest of the bodie(s). Im currently working on a character kitbash kit, comprising of body parts and accessories, that ive been adding to every now and then as a side project when ever i get a bit of spare time, once its complete i'll be looking for people to test drive it so to speak so it may be something that proves useful as a learning tool to you ;)
