  1. could be improved for sure, although im not sure it even needs any skin details
  2. yep its got sss in the luminance channel, probably the angle not showing it too well, its got a strong back light so from front on it shows much better
  3. testing some new skin shaders im working on, click full screen for high quality shots.
  4. thanks man, will do, and ooooh lordy, gold star :D... i might have to actually ;)
  5. Taking a break from modelling the Darth Vader helmet, to do some character work, a fat office worker/boss, body proportions, especially his suit should be fun to make, if not a challenge at least :D

yea it looks smooth, c4d is pretty forgiving in that respect, and seeing as most of those issues are on a flat surface, it wont give you too much hassle, but if you had that same topo on something curved like a sphere, you'd be in for all sorts of problems, but atleast you'll know this for next time ;) keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing your progress :D

predictive text can go die There's a few ok areas regarding the topology, but looking at the back of that bullet cylinder, i have to avert my eyes, also, there's way more loops on the grip than needed to hold that form, some triangles and a massive pole, as well as the unevenness of the poly sizes, mainly due to you having so many loops for the finger arches, its not a bad attempt but there's definitely plenty of room for improvement , I'd start off with what my homie CBR suggested, and see how you go from there :D

EDITED Ah the coveted gold star, so few have been documented that people believe it to be a myth, awarded to only the finest modellers in the galaxy.

could you do some isopalm wires, hard to see whats going on when its so dense
  13. well my kit will eventaully have different hands/feet legs/ hair caps, heads, bodies shoes etc so quite a large task heres a small portion of what ive got so far
  14. hey man nice to see that your still going at this, unfortunately character modelling really can be a massive pain in the backside to get right, you seem to be making progress though thats for sure, but i really would stick to making them from scratch, it really is in my opinion the fastest and best way to learn, building a character from scratch to completion over and over etc also as cerbera pointed out some of the proportions namley the hads are a little large in comparison to the rest of the bodie(s). Im currently working on a character kitbash kit, comprising of body parts and accessories, that ive been adding to every now and then as a side project when ever i get a bit of spare time, once its complete i'll be looking for people to test drive it so to speak so it may be something that proves useful as a learning tool to you ;)
  15. Nice stuff on your site man but i agree with wats said above it takes attention away when viewing your work and after having watched it a couple times it for me atleast started to annoy me a little.

no worries bro, you've got some decent skills there, just need to make sure you show them off in the best way possible :D
  17. Annoyingly ive spent more time fixing errors and remodelling than making progress, the most difficult part of this project is proving to be finding reliable and well taken reference images, something ive struggled to find, and due to this some areas where not as accurate as i would have liked, so upon finding some better images ive spent alot of time today making changes to parts of the helmet that where off, after that i finally started adding the linkages to the top of the face mask, aswell as modelling some of the finer details, heres the helmet now, with a little nicer lighting

    Criticise Me.

did you model these yourself ? nice models, but no where near hollywood quality, as teknow pointed out the space back drops are average at best, dont forget hollywood visual effects companies have 100's of employees, each working in specialised areas, texturing, lighting, modelling etc
  19. Dont think so man, ive also been trying to create a new album but it keeps telling me that ive got 3 already, when ive already deleted one to give my self an empty slot for the new one so i think something dodgy is going on with the galler atm
  20. dont be discouraged! nothing worth doing in life is ever easy, if we gave up on something everytime it got hard we would never learn anything would we? you put the hard work in now, to get the benfits later, and trust me when you get to the point where things just click, you'll be glad you kept with it, because then there really isn't a limit to what you can do, only your imagination. have a break for a few days, try not to put too much pressure on your self, hopefully after that you'll return with a renewed enthusiam :D

some nice stuff there bro! personally i feel its bit long, minute and half to two minutes i think would have been better, plus im not overly keen on the music but for overall content its nice :D
  22. this evenings progress, finished off the rear collar detailing, well for now anyways, grid was a massive pain but got it done in the end, also cut in the vents on the face mask that where placed there temporarily, which required adding additional geo and loops to the mesh to hold the forms.
