  2. Aw man me too ! That automated message brings back memories! Recently placed through the black mesa remake and it brought back some fond memories! I also tried out the transit section someone made in unreal with modern graphics. My god it looks fantastic !
  3. Nice work Gaza, are you using density maps for the fur? Same thing can be applied for length etc. That way you can better control the areas you want fur and the areas you don’t , where it needs to be shorter / longer tapper to nothing etc

Thanks man! Article was a new experience as I’m no teacher. I found that odd too, with the editor Rob being a c4d guy. Ha! It might be. @everfreshgave it to me years ago and it’s the best hdri I’ve ever used lol, makes everything look awesome! Talking of Pooh I just did a rerender without the alien.

Thanks man! Wasn’t overly sure on the pose, was quite limited with options but I think it worked in the end.

Thanks so much Dave, that means a lot coming from you. Honestly I spent probably over 50 hours on this model, with a good chunk of that dedicated to the boom box details half of which ended up being hidden in the final version and the roller skates, as well as colour grading and other bits in photoshop. Some very long days / nights to get this done for the deadline. for the tongue started with a cube and scaled it, then rotated it around a few times and extruded the details out afterwards, even went as far as to change angle of the one on the left foot as it would hang down a bit at the angle. I’ve yet to see it in person as I haven’t got a physical copy yet but I’m hoping it looks good. V

From the get go, the character was created specifically for the the tutorial however, due to a pretty tight deadline I decided to get everything modelled and rendered first, as they were eager for the finished piece to design the cover, went back afterwards and deconstructed it and did the write up.

Yea it’s a shame as you can’t go majorly into individual details as you’re limited to a 100 words or so per step, so really can only give a brief overview of the process. Still it was a good learning experience lol Thanks man, quite surreal.

Yea I’m gonna go grab a copy when I get a chance, don’t be too harsh on the write up XD tutorials are definitely not my forte but considering the constraints didn’t come out too bad.

Thanks Mike! Was super stressful at the time due to a tight deadline, I’m also not much of a writer but was well worth it in the end.

Well we made it boys! C4D on the cover of 3D world magazine ! Was commissioned back in January to create a character for the cover , and an article with an over view of the modelling process. Brief was -Disco Astro naught, so I went with it, was changed quite a bit over the length of the process but quite happy how it ended up. This marks a significant miles stone for me as an artist, definitely something cool about seeing your work published!
  13. Yep, now the box is open there’s nothing stopping it, add that to ai voice changers, and who even needs the real actors anymore. Literally feels like an episode of black mirror.
  14. This is now, image another year or 2 of development. As you say entire advertisements made from text based prompts, and that’s now. They also have a clip of a 4x4 on a trail and it looks great. Certainly takes bargaining power out of our hands. The end consumer won’t care how it’s produced. Not sure on the amount of time it takes to compile clips like these but I imagine it’s infinitely faster than a peron(s) making it.
  15. Just seen a sora ai vid pop up on my ig feed, according to their website it’s 100 percent ai generated footage from text, and honestly if this is true it’s scarily good, we’re talking multiple detailed characters / objects etc in complex environments. I can see this hitting the stock footage market especially. Implications of this are quite substantial I think. https://openai.com/sora

    Jedi refresh

Thanks man ! here's how he started out back in 2016 when i submitted it to the cafe child warrior challenge. quite happy with the new hair and brows, don't often use real hair on a character so the skills a little lackluster in that department.

    Jedi refresh

This characters been through a few iterations over the years, orignally started out as a submission for a cafe challenge. did some new lighting, materials and light modelling adjustments.
  18. While i'm on said lawn, wana buy some cookies to go with your warm coco? 😄
  19. HA! not sure how plausible this would be mechanically but at the time i thought it looked cool 😅 ah man don't i'm 36 this year it's kinda depressing 😒
  20. Bit of a face palm moment if you ask me. A friend sent me this earlier, seems the original listing had been taken off their site due to backlash but it’s still searchable through googgle. Full ad https://g.co/kgs/vqWR8aq
  21. Came across these images this morning while browsing, this was from 2014 when i first started out 3d modelling. kinda interesting to look back at these as i'd forgotten all about this model and lost the files years ago. maybe i should redo it this year 😄
  22. Yea I used to post there quite often, it’s quite a nice little forum, I’m not sure how busy it is traffic wise these days but always had good interactions from moderators and users there. It’s at least been around since I started learning C4D back in 2014.
