  1. I have not used Redshift BakeSet more than once it didnt seem to work for hairs. The way iv baked hair is simply render against a white backdrop, then apply the texture to hair cards as I did in this clip. Keep up the good work. Dan
  2. This looks very interesting indeed. I will look further into it. One question which you have have covered in your video is does it work for other render engines such as Redshift, Vray, Octane e.c.t? I would like to bake Redshift hair onto hair cards? Is S22 on the cards? Thanks, Dan
  3. Hi Guys. Here is a W.I.P groom I started last night. Still finding my way with optimized workflows with Ornatrix, but overall am happy so far. Crits welcome. (Image from google search Charlize Theron) Here is a evaluation of where Im at and things to improve on. Il get back to the likeness once I have hair in place as the hair can have a dramatic effect on how we perceive the look of the face. Thanks, Dan
  4. Im back on this very soon, totally forgot about it as I diverted to the Steampunk project. Now with Ornatrix in my grasps I should get close to what I have in mind. I was hoping by now Random Walk would be in Redshift but if needed I will have to go back to Vray which means back to R20. Anyways, Il be back on this very soon. One good thing is now Zbrush has a accurate camera, this is a huge deal as now I can match the likeness between Zbrush and C4D due to new camera in Zbrush and ability to export it with its setup. As always I will try to make it educational showing workflows, and progress. Dan

    Hi from Zimbabwe

Hello and welcome to the Cafe. Look forward to seeing your work. Dan
  6. Welcome to the cafe Elliot, glad you find C4D comfortable. I totaly get where you coming from, my first experience in doing any rigging was XSI, then Max. that was a whole world of pain. Dan
  7. This is my second groom with Ornatrix for C4D. I will describe the process, and things I could have done better during this exercise. Groom Goal: To make a hair style for a man that was very controlled, not loose and organic. Method: Manual guide placement, control maps for length, and distribution. This was my second attempt at this style the first attempt I used Guides from mesh which distributes hair evenly over the scalp. I also used a slightly tweaked map for distribution. Black = no hair White = Hair, all values between will produce more or less hair. I used a thin black line where I wanted the parting. The hair used multiple operator stacks which offer more complex styles and control. I done very little direct grooming, most of this is procedural. I did make use of the feature that allows you to directly groom the hair, this is where Ornatrix offers a significant advantage for fine tuning styles. The video below gives a overview of this project.

    HI from ALSHTATY

Hello and welcome to the Cafe. Doing 3D in C4D can be easy but is subjective to each individual and the area in which they are wanting to be skilled in most. C4D can do almost everything however C4D like every other 3D app out there will have its strengths and weaknesses. The good thing is depending in which way you look at it is there are many 3rd party plugins that specialize in certain areas such as fluid simulation, cloth simulation, advanced industry render engines including Maxons own Redshfit. These can be added to expand C4D capabilities. Im sure your get on very well with C4D as its UI is welcoming, and its inbuilt documentation is very good. Your English comes across fine. Dan
  10. Hi Alexander, and welcome to the cafe. Im sure your current skills will fit in well with C4D. C4D is not as complicated as you may thing, there is just plenty of areas that it covers of which you may not even use. Stick to learning some basic modeling skills then Uv mapping, materials and basic rendering, the lighting and composition skills you have will come into its own as you go. After a few weeks your start to dash around C4D feeling at home in a easy to read enviroment. Dan

  15. Hey guys. I have been breaking apart Ornatrix over last couple of week, and started to make some videos to get you into Ornatrix. I will be doing a video review soon to give non users a peek into what its all about. Iv been learning the tools functionalities which in itself does not mean you know how to use the tools well, just what they do. Iv put what i've learnt so far into practice and here is my first groom, much more to come. Dan
  16. Hi Q1: In the render settings in the Output text menu you have Frame range. Default is Current frame. You can choose any frame and the render engine will render that frame. Q2: Your zoomed in 300% it should be at 100% in the picture viewer. If you wana get closer render it larger in the render output settings. Dan
  17. Awesome, great video and plugin, thanks for sharing. Dan
