  1. I'm guessing you are after a wet map? It's just a vertex weight tag that you plug to a shader. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATnHqqzRBcY&ab_channel=Maxon
  2. Yea that was my sole rant about scene nodes. I really don't get why it can't be used for rigging (or to be specific manipulating existing objects). I made a thread about it and one of the maxon staff commented that it is really not possible at all because of the way it is built. I was interested in using scene nodes to finally be free from the priority confusion problem that plague rigging in C4D. But it is what it is. Can't really do much about it now.
  3. I am stupid. There is a recent solution here: Sorry about that. I still have a broken search function in the forum (i.e. there is no search bar).
  4. Hi, Is there an angle between node in xpresso or equivalent? It has angle difference but unfortunately it's not the same. I need the inputs as vectors and not reals/float The one in Maya and the one in the new nodes is what I am a looking for. Can this be done in xpresso?
  5. Hi @Hrvoje Thanks for the response. I opened the file and it does work. I redid it and it doesn't work And I guess I think this is a bug. Semi automatic: If I drag the actual geo to the pose morph tag poses param, it doesn't work. Manual: But if I click Add Pose>Then drag the geo to the Target, it works as expected.
  6. Hi, I have three geos related to moprhing 1) Base Geo 2) Geo with Bend Deformer 3) Geo with Twist Deformer 2 and 3 geos are dynamic which means they change throughout the timeline. So they can't be relative/rotational since those are static (fixed point positioning when added) They need to be Absolute. The problem is if you set two morphs as absolute, only one is being carried over. Is there a way to have "two" absolute morphs in one morph tag? Much the same way as other DCC. And other DCC like Maya, Blender, Houdini, 3ds Max etc?
  7. Later on YT recommend me some related videos. I couldn't get it to working seamlessly like Blender but your milage may vary.
  8. Hi @Hrvoje Thanks for the response. I ended up doing it in blender. A bit convoluted but it works.
  9. Hi, I'm trying bake a color texture from old UV to a new UV. It's straight forward for normals as shown in this video. The problem is the "color" option does not have
  10. Unfortunately, not really a solution in my case 😞 Since the convex hull simplifies the whole point cloud. Yea I guess there's no "adject points node" at the moment. Thanks anyway.
  11. @JakS I don't own a copy but I used it on a project. Once you set-up, it can easily churn out hours of talking videos. I believe the plug-in also allows you to use recorded videos and not just live ones. (Although I am not sure about this one now, since it's been awhile. Just verify). So your talent doesn't need to be in the same room as you. He/she just needs to record and send a video and you can preprocess it on your end.
  12. There's a https://www.mocapx.com/. The native is Maya but I think they also support unreal/unity which you can roundtrip to C4D. Although, to be honest, 540, for a full pledge commercial facial motion capture is a already a deal. Here's the pricing system for mocapx. Relatively cheap at face value.
  13. Hi, Just wondering if there is an modern way of creating mesh from a point cloud? I have some tracker points and I need to create some proxy mesh of it. Is this possible in C4D? P.S. Unfortunately, so far what I have are older threads that have incompatible scripts such as this one. https://www.reddit.com/r/Cinema4D/comments/n7haxs/help_with_importing_point_cloud_data_into_cinema/ P.P.S. So far what I think of as an algorithm is like Houdini's native connect adject points node. Where if there is a three point nearby(based on a threshold), create a face/mesh on it. Or something like that. I have done it in houdini. It works but I need a C4D solution for a client.
  14. Try this one. The first part introduces how to create a rolling object in expresso. The second part is doing it in nodes.
  15. ah gotcha maybe that was the difference. I don't use Octane. The plug-ins I have is xparticles, cycles4d and redshift and I don't even use the first two. only redshift lol.
  16. Uhm not sure about that. Either just use an older version of Windows 10 or use Windows 11. I'm using Windows 11 latest buid and I can open R20.
  17. Yea. There was supports being drop on Windows 10 builds not only C4D but on several app. That said I can attest Windows 11 is not bad. You can also update for free from windows 10 to windows 11 without reformating, so its non-issue. My apps fine. Apps like after effects, resolve, c4d, houdini, substance painter, redshift etc.
  18. " Houdini cameras don't even have a simple way to set a camera focus target. " Uhm not sure about this. I instally have a camera focus target whenever I create a camera.
  19. Ah my bad. I'm referring specifically for parallel view (not necessarily ortographic). The one that creates isometric design. By default, Houdini camera doesn't offer it.
  20. Interesting. Not quite related but were you able to replicate the ortographic view in Houdini just like in C4D? Or I guess its called parallel view?
  21. AFAIK, it's not possible. As confirmed by this thread This is the main reason I can't take the scene nodes seriously. It's cool but it's really practical for use. Unlike Maya, Blender and Houdini nodes where they are built to be used on existing set-up.
  22. @HappyPolygon Interesting Video. Thanks for the reference. This should set me up. 🙂
  23. Hi, Currently, Vibrate Tag only affects the PSR and not other parameters. Is there instead a Vibrate Node for Xpresso so I can just use the output from 0 to 1 as I please? P.S. I understand the workaround is to have vibrate tag for PSR and have the PSR linked to the Expresso. It works but I was wondering if there is a streamline way of doing this simple task. Thanks
  24. @HappyPolygon Your workaround works as expected. It does mess with the hierarchy but I guess its better than nothing. Thanks again!
  25. Sure sure. Here you go. time_effector_offset_RND.c4d
