  1. The real crisis is that we won't get fresh buns and bread at work every morning at my office for the next three weeks.
  2. It's not, not even close. But it's good enough for me and for smaller scenes. If you have any fluid centric scene that needs absolute realism I'd still go with RealFlow. X-Particles just had it in the package so I use that. Well you use it like pretty much any other game engine. You model your stuff in C4D, UV it and then you import it into UE and set up your materials there (the textures normally come from Substance in the roughness / metallic workflow). It's just really cool to see your stuff in realtime and if you're not bound to getting 60FPS all the time you can do some really, really cool stuff with UE4. It just takes some time to get used to the quirks. Feel free to ask if you need to know anything else.
  3. Oh I see. Thought you were joking about the essential oil pyramid scheme snakeoil stuff. Guess I've been too much on the AntiMLM Subreddit 😜
  4. Obviously C4D for everything 3D related X-Particles for particle- and fluid simulations Octane and Cycles for rendering Substance Designer and Substance Painter for texturing Photoshop and Illustrator for vectors and image manipulation After Effects for compositing and post work in general Unreal Engine 4 for realtime visualization
  5. Interesting seeing your archviz stuff in a different engine. Really shows how different engines have their own look.
  6. Worked on the material some more, basically redid the entire roughness, metallic and base color graph after I got the edge wear and grunge where I wanted it. I think it's way better now, pretty happy with the result. The lamps are now rounded too, not flat anymore. Edit: Added the graph if anyone is interested.
  7. Yeah there's lots of great geometry based mindbending stuff on the internet as well, it's fascinating really.
  8. Why do you think this only confuses preschoolers 🤪 ?
  9. Yeah I think there's just a bit of "crispness" in the texture missing, especially in the dirtier areas. Still looks great though.
  10. Yes that's basically what I've been doing. I just haven't found the right noise and the correct settings yet. I'd do stuff like this in the render engine itself too but right now I enjoy Substance with the instant feedback way too much 😜
  11. Is that the resolution of the model / texture or where does this "smushy" look come from?
  12. Thanks for the feedback! That is something I've thought as well, just looks too "generated". This is just straight out of Substance Designer, just with the Post-Process effects enabled (for the bloom, vignetting and dof).
  13. Working on some random sci-fi material, just trying out new tools. Hexagons make everything look sci-fi! Not quite happy with the edge wear yet. Thoughts?
  14. Although I see why, it's too bad this is iOS only 😞 Still cool stuff!
  15. Mainly when it comes to vectors. AE imports Illustrator files nicely, the question is if you can do that with this too? Sounds great, but I assume this could also be done with some scripting / plugin in PS, right? I can't imagine big studios do that stuff by hand.
  16. From the album: Materials

Hexagonal Brickfloor. 100% procedural, made in Substance Designer and rendered with Unreal Engine 4.
  17. Do you have any idea how well this works with After Effects?
  18. And even more Substance Designer work. Rendered in Unreal Engine 4.
  19. The interior looks a bit dark for how bright the sky is, I think...

I don't like these things normally, but these I would eat!
  21. Yeah it's great, the only issue is when C4D crashes or doesn't close correctly and you don't start it again and go home or something. Then your license will still be active on that system even though it's not currently running and you can't use it on another PC until you restart C4D on the system that the license currently is activated on.
  22. Looks sexy as hell! Personally I'm not a fan of how much space the new icons waste though. Theres so much dead room between the icon and the border of the button...
  23. Haha, awesome! Love the facial expressions and the artstyle. 😁
