  1. Not to mention that if I use and love a software, I want more of it. And I only get more if I pay. Because of nobody pays the company will just die.
  2. Yeah I can imagine that they absolutely will not play around if you get caught. Not to mention, if you need technical support for some reason it'll probably rather easy for them to find out...
  3. Probably nothing, honestly. But if they have some kind of control I'd look at stuff that gets put out there, look at the studio size and be like "hmm, this looks like it's been done with Houdini and that Studio has 20 employees". Or they just don't care and they make enough money because people that actually love their tools pay for them, if they can.
  4. Not long. Only around 3minutes 🙂
  5. Huh interesting. Let's see if this works... Vellumlines.Redshift Rop1.0000-0168-1.m4v
  6. Doesn't need to restricted in functionality. Most softwares I know restrict Indie licenses by just limiting the revenue you can earn before you need to buy the bigger license.
  7. Redshift wooooo VellumLines.Redshift_ROP1.0000-0168.mp4
  8. Try this node instead of directly plugging the file path.
  9. Yes, higher "level" Houdini licenses can read that no problem. The only difference is that if we open that file our Houdini goes into Apprentice Mode as well; meaning we can't export stuff, get a watermark on our renderings etc.
  10. Let's call it HIP file, since we're like, you know, super HIP.
  11. Usually when stuff like this happens you need some kind of node betwene the texture and the material. At least I've seen that happen in other render engines. I assume you're using Mantra?
  12. No pretty sure those are made of some kind of foam, but I could be wrong 🤔
  13. Glad I'm not the only one 😄 Reminds me of this:
  14. Hey man, welcome! I'm sure there will be plenty of questions and thank you for offering your help! Once @Igor comes back I'm sure he'd be glad to invite you to our little Houdini Discord we made, if you're interested.
  15. Aaaand some random ... candies?
  16. Great, now I have THAT picture in my head. 😕
  17. I actually didn't mean that the sub is too expensive. I meant that the Perpetual is too expensive in relation to the Subscription 😄
  18. Yeah unfortunately it's still way, way too expensive. 730€ a year for subscription vs. 3560€ for a perpetual is oooooof.
  19. That is REALLY impressive as first project!
  20. Where? Last I checked it was "hidden" below the subscription prices as a small link, and that is still the case.
  21. It's cool that you believe that, there's lots of people that think different on this. The point is that I politely asked you not to post unhelpful and unconstructive stuff in the thread, that is literally all I asked you to do. It should be clear that it has absolutely nothing to do with neither lack of humor nor with political correctness. That's just whataboutism at this point. Again, not giving your opinion is not the point. But clearly you missed that part. I was actually going to be the grown up here until I read this, but hey, you do you.
  22. Yeah that is really constructive way to make yourself heard. I'm sure MAXON will listen.
  23. The point of these threads is open discussion. It's one thing being angry about not getting what you want, it's another thing being a dick about it. The latter is not something that is appreciated in this forum.
  24. No, ProRender has been deprecated. The results were just not good and I'm glad MAXON abandoned it as early as they did. That said, you can still download the newest ProRender versions from AMDs Website if you want. For free.
