Blender gets more and more impressive and tempting every day. Im comfortable with C4D, but at some point it wont make sense anymore

IMO Applies LIdar does a disservice to the word Lidar, its very low resolution and imprecise. honestly the face Scanner on the front side does a better job with fine details. I think for something like this a photogrammetry solution will give better results.

Maxon has too many different sculpting apps. C4D Sculpt, Forger, ZBrush, ZBrush Core, ZbrushCore Mini, I assume Forger is soon dead. now that Zbrush is in house. I hope that Sculpt in C4D will soon push it out to Zbrush, or integrate Zbrushg Core inside C4D.

Im not finding them noisy at all. and mine have 4 slot spacing. so keep the air moving. 56-70 degrees

yeah it doesnt have to be big. new rigs in Asset browser, new materials., small feature update. similar to what happened with 26.1 maybe not even that big. 75% off on a plugin for maxon one users for a certain month. just fresh content and assets so subscribers feel like they are getting something special for their monthly payment. free tshirts lol.

Is there a way to duplicate a panel? can I have two attribute panels?

Why doesnt the Node editor keep docked panels. If I add open the node editor and Dock the asset panel and Material Editor inside. and save the panel layout, save it as default scene. if i close the node editor. and reopen it. the previously docked panels dont also show up. with it. also If im using Node editor and click + to show nodes. and click pin icon, why doesnt it just stay open. why cant I lock it open. super frustrating UI issues

Emailed maxon Support about R20 not running. they suggested i Block connections in firewall. and delete preferences and that seemed to work!.

Tried installing an old copy of R20 I still have. installed fine. gave it firewall permissions but wont run on my new Windows 10 pro 21H2 PC. FML lol

I get that.. but than perhaps allow the download of an old version of C4D that Can open these old files. why not have R19 available on Maxon One?

I have been using C4D since R9.5 I believe. I have alot of old files. I dont have R9.5 or 11.5 or R19 When I try and open one of these old files in R21-26. I get an error. "its too old and cannot be read it was created with Cinema 4D R11.5 or older you can still convert it with any Cinema 4D version up to R19" BTW I dont have the old software anymore, it was owned by a previous employer When I login to Maxon One. I cant download any older version than R21 why did Maxon remove any ability to use C4D files in c4D? makes no sense i realize something might be issues when converting an old file.but should still be able to open. @DMcGavranplease restore some functionality to use old files.

The new S26, been optimized to have redshift, I am curious why when you create a Redshift Camera it doesnt include a redshift camera tag by default?

I would like to figure out a way to align a camera so its field of view fills whatever is selected. For example if I make a 16x9 plane or a selection on the side of a cube I could get the camera to view that selection so its perfectly framed, pixel perfect edge to edge. I dont want the aspect ratio of the camera to change and I dont want the focal length to change. just want its position adjusted. so if focal length is 300mm it will back up far enough to get it into view right now im doing this manually but its not pixel perfect when moving back.

Oh geeze Truespace was my first real 3d software experience. I tried 3D Studio for Dos but that was terribe. lol. I also went from Truespace to C4D. Alot because of this forum

Personally I feel going towards a Patreon, Exclusive content model to be more appealing. I would also like to see some Transparent accounting of actual expenses incurred. I have seen this before in opensource projects where. a spreadsheet is shared publicly showing income and expenses .I have been a member here since 2005 but only have 250 posts. I visit maybe once a month, maybe less. I want this community to grow and continue. But i think a yearly subscription will turn many away and it will reduce it. I think that there are other ways to raise income.

Would love to see Maxon update C4D's Boolean function to use Zremesher/Volume Builder to replcate the how Boole works in Maya/Blender
