Certainly interesting. But it's only industry standard for some industries! I've only every been given 8/10 Maya files in 20 years. And I work in TV/Commercial/Music Video/Corporate and some games! Sure I know its use a lot in Film and of course other places - but I don't often see it.
C4D is way more used for me. I've been asked about 3DS which I started on and won't touch with a bargepole now days it's horrible in every respect UI wise. And of course the Killer thing for me is that both Maya and 3DS can only open ONE file at a time! It's insane. Is it 1995?

As for blender. It's very nice. Wouldn't use it commercially I suspect... Because not one company in the 100+ I have worked for in 20 years ever has every used it.
