  1. Pretty Good HRVOJE, I prefer the opuses radiating from the sphere. So how do I omit the circles and have the sphere radiating from 4 sides and looping? Thank you for this nice solution Jacobite
  2. I think so. I did a basic interpretation of what I need by animating a Torus and looping it. Very basic. I agree a Mograph expert or Xpresso expert would come up with a solution in a few minutes. Jacobite
  3. I do have AE but have never used it in conjunction with C4D. I thought there would be a simple way in C4D to do this. Anyway, I suppose this would force me into using both packages together. Thanks Mike Jacobite

    Radio Waves

Hi to all, I’m trying to create Radio Waves, just what you would imagine coming from a Car Antenna (Aerial). Pulsing concentric Circles. They were a few project file in Core4D, however they are no longer available. Any help would be most appreciated. Jacobite
  5. Yeah HJV, I am dealing with imported models. The Axis for all objects and Nulls are all over the place. The method I am using is; Firstly select and isolate the object into a new Null. Because that takes away the problem of the Null Points on the original Null because if I try Center object to parent command the Axis would jump the the original Null Parent position which is not in the sam position as the object. Sorry if I have not made that very clear. Anyway after isolating the objects, I select them all and use Nitroman.s "Magic Centre" to get the Axis of all objects into their correct positions. The problem I have from there is that not all Axis's are positioned in the correct direction. Therefore, I have to select "Enable Axis Tool" go into the coordinates and zero XYZ to correctly align the Axis. I thought there would be a script that I could highlight multiple objects and have their XYZ Zeroed out. Jacobite
  6. Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone has done a script to zero out the Coordinates of an axis. What I mean is, if we use Axis Centre, then that will centre the Axis to the object. Thats great but it does not mean the direction of the Axis is correct. I have been doing this task manually (Maybe OCD) for tons of objects. Then I thought that some genius has came upon this problem years ago and thought, “I’ll write a script for that” As many of you know I work in R18, maybe R25 has addressed this and if so (as I struggle with 25’s learning curve), point me in the right direction. Cheers Jacobite
  7. Yeah got it Fritz and CBR. I though they were Null Objects but no idea of how to deal with them. Took me a wee minute CBR but I got there, Cheers. Anyway when you select all, obviously the nulls are still there, can this cause any issues later dun the road and is this caused because the null is in the wrong position and int aligned with the object it is the parent off? Thanks Guys as always C4D at the heart of The Core4d Jacobute
  8. I was not sure what the points were connected to. I selected everything including children, in point mode I tried to optimise. No Joy. Again with everything selected I used Nitroman's Magic-centre. No Joy. I then selected each element copied and pasted into a new document and aligned each object axis. As the model is free https://grabcad.com/library/trailer-51 I suppose you guys can import it to R25 and see what you think. I have obviously take the long road on this one but if there are a correct procedure to this file type I'm sure the community would benefit. Jacobite
  9. I downloaded this free .STP model, imported into R25 to find lots of stray points. I tried optimise in point mode with no success. Therefore, I copied each component and pasted them into a new document. That worked really well. I was wondering if C4D has a function for this problem or perhaps I imported the model wrongly. 10. Thank again CBR, excellent advice as always. I will experiment with your options. All the very best. Jacobite
  11. A bit of a dilemma, what would be the best way to approach this one. Scenario, a Narrowboat (Canal Boat) traveling through a multi coloured tunnel (As it is in real life). The boat then enters a Boat-lift (The Falkirk Wheel (Google It). Anyway, as the boat enters the tunnel the sunlight is behind the boat, (Because it looks good and lights the landscape really well). My problem is that when the boat enters the Boat-lift and is descending down, at this point I want a front view of the Boat-lift this would mean the sun is behind the life causing it to be almost silhouetted. Therefore what is the best way to approach this. I could rotate the Physical Sky while the boat is in the tunnel, however, “The Sun Worshipers would point this one out”. Another approach would be to use artificial lighting and turn off the shaddows in the Physical Sky, but what type of artificial lighting would I use and how would I position them (3 Point etc..) I hope I have explained my dilemma. If not I can post pics later. I would like to thank all the guys at the Core for you valuable help in this project. It is almost complete now, with just a few landscape cutouts, paths and roads to do. Thanking you all for reading. Jacobite
  12. Fond another solution. Scenario, Selecting polygons using the Move Tool with Shift + Control to select straight line of polygons. after my mad selection and even though "Select only visible" was off, it would only elect one side. Anyway I found that with your selection highlighted, Right Click and select Mirror and in the manager select object. This seems to work fine for R18. Jacobite
  13. The way I go about it is Infinite Ocean.https://c4depot.com/c4d-plugins/infinite-ocean/ It gives total control, wake, and floating boats etc.. No hassle set-up and includes models and many variations. Jacobite
  14. Ahh CBR, very clever, Cheers. Jacobite
  15. Why not just create a Sphere and in the properties select Hemisphere. Jacobite
  16. I made a very complicated Polygon selection and did not notice that “Select Visible Only” was selected, when I wanted the opposite Polygons to be selected too. Now that I have a selection, is there a way to use that to select the opposite Polygons?
  17. Gazzanataz, I find in R18 (where I love working) on rendering The first frame will take about 45 mins to an hour. Usually because there are a lot going on (Oceans, Landscapes etc.). This will come down to about 4 mins the gradually go up to about 15 mins or so and the physical renderer take some time to prepare before the next frame even though nothing has really changed in the scene. At this point I do a restart, go through the hour or so and it come back down to 4 mins. I have started rendering in standard, I find this more stable and it goes from frame to frame instantly. I do think it is a Windows problem and I suppose we all have to get on with it. BTW, I hate Window, never liked it, never will, it is just pathetic.
  18. Thanks BIGAL3D, that is an amazing scene and the Render times are Magic. Thanks again! Jacobite
  19. Jeff H1, I don't use and other Render engines other than Physical. Bidal3d, that grass looks very good, I'll try all of the suggestions as see what is the best way for me to go. Thanks Guy for helping me out (The Answers are always found at the CORE4D) Jacobite
  20. Thanks IGOR and CBR, you guys are amazing. I'll give R25 a try. I love R18 and feel so comfortable in there but I know I will have to get into all the new tools and approaches in 25. Thank you both for the feedback. Jacobite
  21. Thanks IGOR, yeah, it's the thought of learning another application. I will certainly have a look at Houdini. Thanks for the feedback Jacobite
  22. Anyone who knows I’m only interested in modelling real-world stuff to original scale. Normally I find the landscapes to be an issue. I have many grass textures and materials and they look good from a distance but not convincing closeup. I have used Hair and Forester in c4d and find them heavy on processing and render times. I have been looking at Grass Kit 5 by lesterbanks but not sure if it is any good for large areas. The only alternative is placing real grass, again heavy processing. Anyway, is anyone using Real Grass 5 and what is your experience or are there anyway I can pull this off with less impact on processing? The grass does not have to be animated but look good in closeups. What do you masters of landscapes do and use? Does it make a difference if I scale down my model then apply grass? Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Jacobite
  23. Watched this tutorial by Nick at GGS a while back. The problem I had was that the project I was on had 600 materials included at the time. Therefore, this method was not useful to me. I was wondering if any of the plugin geniuses at the Core4D would consider tackling this as a project. I’m sure a script could be written to modify materials to speedup Render times using Nick’s technique. I’m sure this would be a valuable asset to the community. Let me know your thoughts. 24. I have used Apple since the early 80' and I have never seen such a shambles. Steve Jobs would have Neve went in the direction. The launch the M1 and put it in the Studio, then launch the M2. Therefore who is going to buy the Studio M1? I was hoping the M1 or M2 would go into the 27", so I have been waiting for some positive vibes from Apple, but nothing as yet. As far as I know the M2 went into the MacBook Pro and Air 13" with 8gb of unified memory (Really). Therefore, the price of the monitor does not justify me buying a Studio. I love my 27" Late 2013 iMac and it runs C4D brilliantly, ok the Ryzen threadripper does the rendering. The currency conversion is a rip-off. $2000 in the USA £2000 UK = about £500 more, better flying over for a holiday. I really playing a waiting game. Otherwise I will get a M2 Laptop and use my 27" to do the display. Jacobite
