  1. So pleasing to see C4D progressing on the much anticipated object handling/viewport performance. Would you comment on the performance of multiple character rigs in the same scene as of now and possibilities of the neutron core?

  5. Sorry for @HSrdelic and @Igor for what has just happened to your country in the World Cup final match. Four years ago @3DKiwi would support Germany as MAXON is a German company (He said so). And it seems that was the last time 3Dkiwi's Titanic ever saw the day light as he was later "foundry" drowned into Middle Earth's "Mordor" sea. But hey, we haven't lost the ring. The Sequel is coming. Cinema 4D R20. The Return of the King!! Hoping to see 3DKiwi back to Studio through the Prime backdoor. Nigel we want your epic review of the release Back for Good and Take That seriously.

  10. And @HSrdelic, how is your son going on? We know he's about to turn 19. Does his character fall-off as his motion is too graphic? Has his PROfessionalism RENDERed him a successful AMD employee? Has he elevated his house roof so that he can have a better and realistic VIEW of the PORT? Is his SOUND now more EFFECTive? And do you like him?

I bet @3DKiwi is his next victim. And yes I too indicated somewhere I would no longer post in this thread!! ICECAVEMAN NEEDS TO BEHAVE HIMSELF TOO AND POSSIBLY GET WARNED!! Otherwise let this thread not get locked. There are useful things (including speculations) being said here. Thanks @HSrdelic for patience!! R19 is about to be released, you should expect this.. and it's because people love the software you love and work for. Will no longer post here before R19 gets announced.
  12. Yes mainly about the core and little on the revamped UV editing. Sir do you even know what series of events "forced" MAXON to start a blog? And with all the blog posts they made do you believe the post by Harald Schneider "FOUNDATIONS FOR THE FUTURE" was the most anticipated and welcome one? Isn't it about the core? Didn't Harald mention "several more releases"? What would those several more releases (Predictably culminating in R20) bring? That's why we skip R19 because the core IS the biggest thing and R19 doesn't "seem" to be the one. MAXON developer JF Yelle calls the core re-write "the most daring project"!! When does it possibly come? R19? No. Likely R20!! The Core is being awaited in Valhala, driving eternal, shiny and chrome!! I will probably end here.
  13. I think it's because we are humans and not robots!! Yes R20 is a year away and yes R19 hasn't been released yet, but that doesn't mean I can't with rationale predict/guess R19 won't have MAYA-level character tools and HOUDINI-level fluid dynamics in one release. R20 is often mentioned when fast object handling is discussed as it's the biggest thing being waited. Since signs don't show R19 will be "the one" then R20 becomes the closest candidate (Should we mention R22 instead?). You hate speculation, fine but it's because MAXON hasn't given a clear road-map and people want to know the future of the software they like.

  17. Thanks @Fritz for popping in. I personally understand that there new functionalities/developments would not be possible without the new core. Now how about the already existing functionalities like character animation and mograph? The major interest here is speed. Will character animation be resolved "substantially" faster than before? Eg a scene with four or six interacting characters?

  19. I believe nobody says that. But when promoting a "full-featured" 3D animation software like C4D one needs to make sure most part (and most "creative" part) is accomplished using the promoted software. C4D isn't advertised as a hub but rather a content creator. Yes you can do compositing is AE or NUKE or Fusion but major assets (and their processing) should come from your own DCC. If you are promoting A MAJOR C4D RELEASE then ask yourself: Does C4D do sculpting? If yes, then Avoid using ZBrush... show what C4D can do Does it do rendering? If yes, then avoid using Arnold (You'll use Arnold if you are promoting it's new porting) Does it do character animation? If yes, then don't use Maya Does it do compositing (at its core)? If no, then use AE, NUKE, FUSION etc. But if you are doing a NIKE commercial, then you can use anything. Luckily MAXON doesn't do commercials. So it's ok to use Maya to create crazy character animation to promote Cinema 4D?

  21. The OpenGL improvements are on par with @3DKiwi's prediction at CGtalk. Waiting to see if his other predictions turn out correct. I should probably call them KiwiLeaks. .... And behold.. there comes a man, the necromancer from the caves, Nigel must stay away unless he wants to be frozen like ice!! (Kidding!).
