  1. Blender feels like the wild wild west with cheap or free addons which helps blender tremendously, but you have to spend a bit of time getting them to work with each other and blender. Not to mention the bugs introduced with the addons or blender itself. You also spend time trying to figure out why your hotkeys changed only to realize it was an addon that changed settings without your knowledge. Oh yeah, and the more addons you get the more you have to maintain as many are updated quite often. On the flip side, there are some solid addons for a good price or free which really helps out. Some C4D plugin developers could learn a about setting reasonable pricing for plugins or collections. Some want almost as much for their collection than the price of the C4D sub itself. I know I'll probably get blasted by saying it on this forum, but lurking on Twitch, Youtube and X I see the same sentiment regarding these unnamed plugin devs. C4D isn't getting any cheaper! 😛 I still can't see using Blender from start to finish on most projects. Some of Blender is just too damn irritating. I look forward to seeing what Maxon does with R2025 too. I'd love to see Maxon actively look at what other apps and plugins are doing and why people are using them. What makes them so powerful? Then look at adopting some of those features or concepts to C4D. For instance, Light Control addon for Blender does a great job solving how to go into an editing mode for a specific light and using hotkeys to adjust various parameters like brightness, orbit, distance, temperature , angle and more. After you are done, left mouse click to get out of editing that light. Such a simple concept. https://blendermarket.com/products/light-control

  2. surprising that in this day and age where Ai looms, Blender is free and more compelling every day that Maxon raises prices. Cost of Living happens.. prices go up but there comes a point (that I think we are already past) where you look at maxon one and think... yeah I dont need that.

  3. WTF Maxon? This is insane. I don't want redshift, it's such a laggy mess. How do You plan to compete with free software that is now superior in most areas with the price hike like this? C4D is lacking in almost every area, there is not even a built in fast rasterisation renderer, nodes are barely usable and not compatible with most of the software functionality. Dynamics and particles live in a different hardware areas and are virtually not compatible with each other. The core rewrite stuck in a limbo. How do You think this will end for you? The only thing that prevents my studio from migrating to Blender is object manager's simplicity. How do you think this will unfold when Blender fixes it's UX? Half of our 3D stuff is Blender native. None new employees with c4d skills. This ex Adobe guy ruined the future of this software.
