  2. This guy has started doing tutorials on Scene Nodes. Leaving it here, since not many at Maxon are spending time making Youtube tutorials on their own Scene nodes. πŸ˜›

  3. Hello Everyone! Do you want to animate characters? But hate rigging? I'd like to present Ace5 Studio's various characters. https://shop.ace5studios.com/ Just recently released Melissa, but i don't think i posted my other recent packs here either, so enjoy. You can use MELISSA25 to get 25% off Melissa πŸ™‚ Cheers, Aleksey

  4. Hello @Cerbera et all πŸ™‚ I think I figured out my particular issue. As we said, the scene was jittery and unstable. Looking into the other setup I made last night, I tried it at large scale and all seemed to work as expected. So, I mixed both things together, that is, making a cable with the diameter I needed (3.5mm) but made it really long, like 100cm long. This seemed to solve the issue. No energy 'being imparted' at the beginning, stable and reacting to forces like turbulence pretty well. So, I think this is the issue: the rope dynamics system doesn't seem to work well at small scale. I am unsure if this is by design or a bug, but for my purposes this is the best solution I can come toβ€”make ropes super long and the objects used as connectors to be quite large as well. Hope this helps others. Thanks, James

  5. Don't forget to set the Cloner to Render Instances.

  6. If a displacement isnt moving, then 100% make editable or "current state to object", save a copy of the scene thats still live in in case you want to change your mind later, but absolutely get rid of those displacers where you can. the object count will only likely be listing items in the object manager. eg if you have a cloner and a model inside, c4d will say you have 2 objects, even though secretly there are maybe thousands of them.

  7. You could try a Constraint tag (clamp, surface mode), but I have always found those to be a bit sketchy and I struggle to get the calculation priority right. What about using Xpresso and a point node ? CBR

  8. This is exactly what I was referring to with regards to leveraging AI libraries within DCCs and render engines. I could see Houdini or Blender implementing things like this or at a scene level where it checks your scene and recommends or automatically up/downrez textures in a scene based on distance to camera and resolution of render. Also, doing upscaling of final rendered images on the fly as well as AI rendering in-between/interpolating frames where you can render out a 20fps render and have it interpolate and add the missing frames, cutting down on render times. External apps do that, like Flowframes. Added: I seem to remember reading about an addon in Blender which you select objects or it auto-selects based on camera distance and you select the rez of the textures you want and hit bake. It will up/downscale the textures. It think this was it: https://blendermarket.com/products/memsaver-scene-memory-optimizer

  9. I'm hoping the whole C4D 2024 cycle over the next 12 months is a chunkier one than usual.

  11. I am with you about the ' Core Crusty's Corner' for old people. - When someone there posts a question about squeaking bones, they probably don't intend it to be anything IK related. - Posting a message with all capitals might become the default. - "Did anyone forget taking his/her capsule, today?" - Talking about having a memory upgrade also doesn't mean what the youngsters think it is.

  12. There is no solution to the generation gap. Just keep in mind that you used to be annoyed when your parents or grand parents told you to stop wasting time on a computer and learn some proper job skills instead. Now it is our turn to believe the young generation is wrong, has no values and our civilisation is doomed πŸ˜„
