Ah, yes, that does sound handy for "growing" those things in an organic manner. I decided to go with a more purpose-built approach by making a few different trunk-like sweeps, then radial cloning them. Then I grabbed a canopy of leaves from an actual tree model and got busy shaping it. With textures and eventually hanging lanterns, I'm confident it will look good enough for a dimly lit interior. I appreciate the suggestions, all!

Yep, certainly is. It won't perhaps be as optimised for clothing as MD is, but the new system is a lot closer to those levels of performance and results than the old system. Would be nice if we could just pick stuff up from anywhere tho ! CBR

Sidefx are definitely a 'one big release' a year(ish) sort of outfit. From what i've heard I'm guessing a Sep / Oct release this year - but we'll see. ...and I wouldn't disagree about the all-rounder comment. I like H in many respects, but OMG it can be hair tearing at times. I heard someone recently describe it as 'like being kissed and slapped at the same time'. Too true!
