  2. anything. welding, extrudes, bevels.. anything. Doesn't C4D require you first to go into edit modeling mode with one hot key (vert/edge/poly), then requires 2 more hot keys (in some cases) to perform a function, like M~O. I know you can change some hot keys but it's still asinine that C4D still doesn't have hot key sets based on function. rant off.. back to the topic... Maya has two different hotkeys. One for repeat last command, and the other for repeat last tool. Here's a quick video on both.

  3. Completely forgot about Poser, POVray and Wings3D. Never heard of TopMod. For some reason, I always thought Poser was a stripped down version of DAZ Studio but those two programs never crossed paths. Poser though has passed through a quite a number of hands: 1995 - Fractal Design Corp 1998 - Metacreations (when they were buying everything) 1999 - Curios Labs 2006 - e-Frontier 2008 - Smith Micro Software 2019 - Bondware Inc I guess they make the news that Lightwave switched owners seem pretty "old-hat". One other piece of software that comes to mind, though not strictly 3D, was Kai's Power Tools. Remember them? Or Elastic Reality for morphing (sold to Avid and then branded with Softimage where it probably got discontinued). Also remember Renderworld? They were the first software that could realistically portray the "calm" surface of an ocean and was used in Waterworld. That software cost $5000 at the time in 1995 (but then again, so didn't Lightwave). Now you can do that and more for free with Hot4D. Ahh...those were the days....err...not really. Dave

  4. Yes, here it is if anyone is interested. I pulled it from R20 standard layout and tested it in latest version and it works fine. If you fold the pallet after import you can place it directly into any tool palette. recenttoolspaletteMV.l4d

  6. When you think about all the 3D packages that used to exist in the 90's and early 2000's, it is rather sad when compared to now many exist today. Here is what I can remember: Still alive and kicking and taking name in the 3D world: Maya Houdini Cinema 4D Blender Still alive....but maybe not kicking as hard as before as they certainly are not growing their name brand like they used to: 3D Studio Max modo Still alive...but in name only as people just are not talking about them Strata 3D Lightwave 3D Hash Animation Master DAZ Sold to another company and for the most part dead Ray Dream Studio - Merged with Infini-D Infini-D - Sold to DAZ Byrce - Sold to DAZ Carrara - Sold to DAZ trueSpace - Sold to Microsoft and then killed Softimage - Purchased by Microsoft, converted to Windows NT to prove that Windows could handle high-end computing to win business from Silicon Graphics, then sold to Autodesk and then killed.
