  1. An XP version is probably going to be non dynamic. Here's a Python sim - if you want the sphere to roll, you'll need Roll It or equivalent sph2.c4d Roll-It 2020 EN – eggtion.net

  3. Some trainers on youtube are showing how to use Geometry Nodes (ones that work easily) in Blender to replicate fields, cloners and other C4D procedural mograph features. Also, there are a couple addons which help to simplify even further. Motion Animate addon uses geo nodes, with its own additional motion nodes, to give you some of the C4D functionality. https://blendermarket.com/products/motion-animate---speed-up-motion-graphics j-mograph is another one too. https://blendermarket.com/products/mograph Both of those are a low cost of entry for adding mograph functionality. As for asset libraries, I'm finding a crap ton of them with addons like BlenderKit, Bagapie, Polyhaven and more. Many are free without making you feel dirty for not being upsold to "One". Once I take a break from some of the training I'm going to install BlenderFarm which is a small footprint render farm manager for Blender. https://github.com/LogicReinc/LogicReinc.BlendFarm My sub is up at the end of next month. I'm giving Blender a go for now to see what I can come up with. Edit: Then I'll tackle Houdini..... 😛

  4. Hi all We are proudly presenting our first plugin based on wonderful new nodes technology for creation of parametric surfaces CORE 4D primitives 1.0 https://www.core4d.com/ipb/store/product/42-core-primitives-10/ Some things are impossible to model correctly. Expand your primitives with these premium parametric surfaces based on pure mathematics. Fully adjustable, fast, seamlessly integrated as capsule or node they are fully compatible with Cinema 4D in every respect Package contains following 12 primitives: * Mobius Strip * Catenoid * Funnel * Drop * Pillow * Wave Sphere * Trefoil * Twisted Sphere * Borromean Rings * Torus Knot * Snail * Cosine Surface Requirements: Cinema version 2023+ is required Installation is very simple and involves importing a zip file into asset browser. 5. Here is a setup which finds neighboring points Locator (null) is used to define where neighbors will be found Some simple control is AM Graph is relatively simple apart from closest points which is an default asset 98_Neighbors.c4d

  6. Maxon and C4D are fine for what they are, but are they offering a compelling reason for a subscriber on the fence to stay rather than investigating alternatives? I'm not seeing it. I'm going to try out Blender from this months later release, and will use 4.0 (due at end of year) to judge how I feel about it, and will try Houdini from the current 19.5, and use this year's later release 20 to see how I feel about that one. And that will give me a half year of watching whatever Maxon bring this year, plus whatever the reaction is, to make my judgement. My current job wraps up in about 10 months or so, which will give me more time thereafter to dive into whichever one I ultimately pick. No rush.

  7. Geez, Maxon is losing its most ardent defender @BoganTW... this can't be a good sign...

  8. It is a dynamic simulation so it is going to be losing energy with every contact it makes even with those settings, and theoretically zero friction; that is sort of intrinsic to its main aim / function, so there may be no way to eliminate it completely without adding energy into the system. I suspect an XP only method would be preferable here, but I am not the best person to speculate what that might be. CBR

  9. Here is a simple setup, I hope that helps. - I made a cyllinder, added 3 joints, bind them together. Added 2 keyframes to make it easy to check if its working. - Add muscle object. Set 2 anchors to 2 joints. Then placed the 2 endpoints of the muscle object so that the muscle is inside the geometry, and at a logical place. Fiddled around with relaxed compresswed and extended settings ( I disables autovolume and used the set button in extended and compressed states at different times in the animation) - Added MSkin after Skin object. muscle_test.c4d

  10. i got them, they are really fun and will use some daily, some not but i know the purchase helps the forum. they work just as stnadard stuff and you get a new category in presets. Great work!!

  11. In other posts, I have looked at Maxon's revenue by breaking down the Nemetschek financial reports and their strategy is working for them. So, it is kind of ludicrous to threaten customer goodwill at this point with a few capsules being earmarked for MaxonOne subscriptions only. IMHO and based on the overall success that SaaS is having on its own, that move will have NO positive effect on their financials. As evidenced in this thread, it will just irritate people. Customer goodwill should be viewed as a LONG TERM asset. It will carry any company over a temporary downturn in business. Goodwill will keep butts in seats if they have a few consecutive years of lackluster releases, unresolved bugs, etc. For Maxon to think that they will never have a sustained downturn in business is pure hubris and foolishness. No company has a perfect track record. Not one. Once a company goes down that slippery slope, it takes time to get back on track and past customer goodwill can help with that recovery. It won't be the engine behind the recovery (that takes internal change) but it can buy much needed time. The need to individually monetize every little thing they create is very shortsighted as it kills customer goodwill over the long term. Dave

  12. Generally it follows exactly what the final rendering will look like so the picture viewer and live view match. You can use the solo mode to quickly get rid of stuff from the live view. For subdivisions, there's the option to not use c4d's SDS, instead you can add an octane tag to an object and use the octane SDS to use a specific level of smoothness.

  13. Thanks Jops! Appreciate the love. I built this plugin for myself so I don't care about negative feedback at all. If people don't want it then that's fine. I don't use the Scene Nodes at all. And I have always wanted a node interface to animate parameters on regular C4D objects. So that is what I built. But I do find it worrying the negativity on this site in general. People don't seem to understand how much effort goes into creating these plugins and seem to want all software for free these days, or dirt cheap. But what those same people don't realize is that if nobody supports developers they will all go away. And we are seeing this already. I don't know many people who actually develop plugins anymore. If you spend 100, 500 or 1000 hours on a piece of art work how much would you try to sell it to recoup your costs? I don't think any individual developers are making enough money to even cover their costs and are most likely just doing it for the fun of it like myself. Also I marked it 50% off just after release, so it is only $50 at the moment. But again, it doesn't bother me if people here don't buy it. But if you do then we can have some fun seeing where this can go. Anyway... here is my latest bit of messing around tonight with FlowGraph.
