  1. The neat free web app, created by industrial designer – and former Weta Workshop senior 3D modeller – Jorge Valle lets you create custom checker maps, and download them at up to 8K resolution for free. UV Checker Map Maker lets you customise pretty much any aspect of a checker map, including the size of the grid and microgrid, the numbering convention (letters and numbers or coordinates), and the colours. Settings are controlled via radio buttons or on-screen sliders, and there are nice usability options like the one to have the colour of the text change automatically with that of the background for maximum legibility. Once created, you can download the checker map at resolutions between 1,024 x 1,024px and 8,192 x 8,192px in PNG format. http://uvchecker.byvalle.com/

  2. No model or blue prints to go from just eyeballing it , playing with the proportions as i go, been doing this so long now i can get them pretty close these days by eye, for the more detailed bits, i'll block the basic shape out first until i'm happy with the proportions then add the details after. I've got some reference images im using as a guide, but there aren't , or atleast i couldn't find any high res images of him in the mk 4 suit from the first game and any images of the game model are as you'd expect from a game that came out 20 years ago nearly, quite poor, there are images from the blackmesa remake but the suit is quite different and i wanted to keep it as close to the original as possible. i did manage to find some images for a female version of the suit, that someone posted on mod db from a few years back, that and some game art are the main images im working from. This is sort of a blend of the two along with some of my styling. pretty fun project, i've moved away from the more detailed models recently the last few years, apart from work related stuff. mainly down to the amount of time they take, so this is a nice change of pace to get back to a little bit of that.

  3. Nope, Can't work this one out. Substance is in R25 resource / modules Location and I cannot find the Plugin or how to even install it. It does not show anywhere and I can't find an installer. Funny how it is in R18 (simple). I even installed "Insidyum Bridge" into the preferences plugins folder and assigned that folder in preferences and tried it in Moaxon/plugins folder to run AoB - Sparkle Shader v1.0 and followed the instructions to the letter, nothing again. Sorry, but I just can't get my head around this situation. Guess I will have to render in R18 for this project. Or maybe the problem is with my new computer. Mac Studio M1 Max. Maybe theses plugins have not been compiled for Mac Silicon. I'm sure one of you guys have came upon similar problems with R25. Any hail would be most appreciated. Jacobite

  4. @HappyPolygonAlright, thanks a ton for at least confirming my suspicions about needing a raycast-type solution. Power Cloner does the job pretty well for what it is. Ricochet crossed my mind a while back, but I forget why I never gave it a shot. Power Cloner is a bit old and hasn't been updated in a while, so Ricochet might be more CPU-efficient. I'll definitely try it out. Thanks a ton once again!
