  1. What's wrong with Core4D? It's like C4D, but with a special nugget of ore in the middle of it. The users hard work gets to determine whether it's a dirty lump of coal or a diamond. I think this site needs some threads on 'favourite tutorials' or 'cool new tutorials of note', whether it be official Maxon ones or ones that other folk have done on Youtube. I'll probably post a couple soon. This goes for the other DCC's as well so if Igor sees something Houdini related or whatever and wants to chuck it up, hey guys, look at this cool technique, I'd be happy to check it out.

  2. Use matrix honeycomb mode as source for distribution... (with effectors applied on matrix can be created nice effects, f.e. " live" creation of hexagons etc...) VF_hexagons.c4d

  3. Yeah, I really wonder what their studio drivers are even for ... if not for this *exact* scenario?!

  4. Fair enough. Yes , I'm well aware of the driver bug - super annoying - particularly the time they are taking to fix it. I was involved in a bit of liaison between Redshift and Nvidia on the previous driver bug - and that took many months to fix. Happily I seem to have been able to avoid the current issues. Running two 3090's here.

  6. Two points to be made: 1) I love the suggestion that ONLY subscribing members can post here while all threads are available to everyone to be read. Honestly, how can you expect to grow the subscriber base unless you allow potential customers to see the benefits of having specific questions answered by some of the best C4D, Houdini, Blender etc. artists out there. Also, anyone who proves that they are on some level a subject matter expert either by their work, their scipts, or their plugins should be allowed full access for free provided that they are answering X questions a month. Not sure how you would track that....but you get the point. Give the experts free access to the forum provided that they are helping the community. Remember that people who serve the community only increase the desire for people to join that community via a subscription. Does Core4D want to be the "hermit kingdom" or an open society? If you open it up and allow people to see the value, then the revenue will grow. 2) Really confused by what is truth or rumor around C4D Cafe being forced to change its name. Honestly, after 20 years of being C4D Cafe something had to have happened to cause the site to now be called Core4D. You just don't change your brand after building it up over a 20-year period on a whim. So, if being "forced" is a rumor then that implies they were not forced and if they were not forced, then let's change it back!!! If that idea does not sit well with anyone, then tell us why so we can deal with facts rather than rumors. Dave

  7. I'm a member of the forum from the "3dKiwi" era. After the switch of captains there was as bit of upgrading the forum (which took a bit to be honest). I have nothing against paying for the membership, but ARE YOU SERIOUS guys? People are searching for a solution to a problem -> they find a link in google -> you have to pay to find out if this will solve your problem. NOPE. I would never do that. I'm paying my sub just because this was and still is the best C4D forum and I like helping other guys when I can. READING THE ANSWERS SHOULD BE FREE!.
